Story & Lesson Highlights with Ivori Howard of Atlanta,GA

We recently had the chance to connect with Ivori Howard and have shared our conversation below.

Ivori, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
I would have to say the science process. All of the ingredients are 100% organic. This means that the ingredients are grown from the most natural state. The Hallewoodskin Turmeric Cleanser is derived from the country India. I really want my customers to understand that the best research has been done, to ensure that they receive quality products to improve their skin.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello, My name is Ivori Howard. I am the owner of Hallewoodskin ; I make Handmade Organic Skincare derived from the best research for authentic skin. I have obtained my Bachelor of Health Science degree from Clayton State University. I include my science skills by handmaking my products; this means that I make skincare products from scratch by using natural and organic ingredients. I would like for people to know that I am also a Baker, and that I have a bakery ” Ivori’s Buttery Toast”. My science experience of measuring have helped me to become confident in baking.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
Dr.Marc S. Wright ( D.D.S) ; I interned as an Orthodontist Assistant during my senior year of college. I realized how much I
loved healthcare. During my internship I sanitized patient operatory rooms, wore comfortable scrubs, and grew to love respecting patients. I was kind and positive towards patients, one morning a Patient bought me a pack of socks from a clothing store named ‘Walters’ located in Downtown,Atlanta. Dr.Wright (Owner of Wright Orthodontics) was able to notice my impact and positivity at his practice especially after the patient showed her appreciation by bringing me a gift. Furthermore, I worked in sterilization at this dental practice. I was able to use my knowledge of healthcare cleanliness and sanitization in my skincare business, (Hallewoodskin).

Do you remember a time someone truly listened to you?
I have family that I have visited in Alabama and they have spoken kind words that let me know that they are proud of me and my accomploishments. My family and I also fellowship in the Lord. Jeremiah 29:12 “Then you will call upon Me and go pray to Me, and I will listen to you.” Says the Lord. This verse reminds me in my heart that God is always with me. He made me, and he is always with me.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
Hallewoodskin’s business mission statement is ” “Handmade Organic Skincare that improves authentic skin”. I am committed to explaining to my customers the quality of ingredients in Hallewoodskin Skincare Products. I also am dedicated to informing to my customers that “authentic skin” as stated in my business mission statement; means that they have to first understand that no one has “perfect”skin”. For this reason, Hallewoodskin has formulated quality treatments from quality ingredients.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I enjoy shipping orders to customers at Hallewoodskin. The process of packaging the orders, and going to USPS makes me feel appreciated by customers. I have shipped orders state-wide to ; New York, Texas, and Alabama.
