Inspiring Conversations with Asaf Yalif of Y Plastic Surgery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Asaf Yalif.

Hi Asaf, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Medicine is a tough choice- and so is being a business owner! It requires a tremendous investment of time, energy, resources, life! You basically give up your entire 20’s in hopes that your late 30’s will be good from a business standpoint.
From a “heart” standpoint it always makes sense. You either have the calling to do more/be more for people or you don’t. I have always wanted to help others, to do more. And I have had the ability to understand medicine and surgery. In what other capacity can I help so many people?

Starting out, I just opened an office and worked extra jobs until we started making enough money. It was just me and one employee doing everything! I would work every other weekend as an Emergency room physician to make enough money to pay rent. But slowly, slowly we grew.

We are currently have 5 team members and business is stable. We have offices in Alpharetta and Sandy Springs. We are proud of where we are financially, but the ability to help people is the largest reward of all.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been far from a smooth road. Employee retainment is always a struggle. It’s hard to find great people who match the culture and want to stay and improve the business.
And there are always the trials that come with working in healthcare.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Y Plastic Surgery ?
