Story & Lesson Highlights with Quentin Sims of All Greater Atlanta area

Quentin Sims shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Quentin , it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I’m so proud to be apart of the “Old Atlanta” Megamix. Which brought 3 generations of Atlanta HipHop artists together to pay tribute to the late great Marvin “BoLegs” Arrington Sr. who helped shape the new Atlanta we all enjoy now.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Quentin “QueuebeaTs” Sims and I’m a music producer and songwriter born and raised in Atlanta Georgia. I’ve worked with almost every HipHop artist from Atlanta. From the first rapper Mojo to the new generation of artists from Atlanta.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My mom. She always told me that once I really apply myself I could do anything I wanted to do and I’m now just seeing what she was trying to get me to see. I wish she was still here to see her only son finally figured it out.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
It showed me I’m nothing without having The Most High first and foremost in my life. All my suffering came from trying to do things my way but now I just want to do God’s Will because I’m lost leaning on my own understanding of things.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
It is mostly a real version of me but some of me I keep private for myself and my family and friends. I have no image to uphold but I do value some privacy.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I overcame the odds. Being raised by a single mother and my dad being killed when I was 2 years old. I was supposed to be dead or in jail according to statistics but through the grace and mercy of The Most High HE really had HIS HANDS on molding me into the man I’m supposed to be for HIM. That’s why I’m naming my project The Mighty Quen because I overcame the odds.
