We recently had the chance to connect with Dr. Torre and have shared our conversation below.
Dr., really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I begin each morning with prayer and meditation. as well as listening to praise and worship if time permits
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello,
I’m Dr. Torre a native of Atlanta, born and breed in the south. I have been in healthcare for over 20 years and a business owner for the past 15 years. My private practice is in the Vinings area where I assist individuals, couples, and corporate clients regarding mood disorders, couples work, narcissistic abuse, and financial therapy. My eclectic but effective style allows my clients and audiences to feel supported, inspired, and eventually successful pertaining to their mental health journey. My business or brand includes psychotherapy, relational workshops, keynote speaking, and healthcare consulting. The most recent addition to my brand are my mood disorder therapy cards entitled Mindfully ME. For more information about me please go to drtorre.org
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful was in grade school. There were a few special times in which friends or family members reached out to me for advice or guidance with a particular difficult life decision. Being able to comfort them in addition to assisting or solving a concern of theirs made me feel seen and heard in way I had never experienced before. These experiences left an indelible impression on me.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Excellent question, suffering has taught me how sharp and resilient I am in times of trouble and pain. I learned not only what I’m made of but also who I could truly call on or trust. My trust and my solace have always been sustained in God
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
What matters most to me is connection. No matter what relationship it is, I thrive from being connected and present with the people and things that are important to me.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I pray when all is said and done, I’m remembered for my love to hear other people’s stories or experiences and being present and supportive towards them when it truly mattered or was needed.
