We’re looking forward to introducing you to Makala Hamilton. Check out our conversation below.
Makala, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What is a normal day like for you right now?
I wake up, God willing, get my toddler dressed for daycare, make sure my 2 teens are up ready for school, drop the toddler off, go to work for 7.5 hrs. Get off pick up the toddler, and go TikTok live for 2 hrs. Fix dinner and do mom duties. Some days it looks different depending on priorities or plans, but typically thats my day.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Im a proud single mom of three, a U.S. Navy veteran, and a licensed occupational therapy assistant with a passion for helping others rebuild and thrive. Beyond my professional life, Im an Airbnb hostess who creates a welcoming space for travelers and a vibrant content creator known online as Makala Thee Creator. My content blends humor, honesty, and heart—offering raw perspectives on motherhood, healing, and the courage to live your truth. Whether Im managing life at home, serving others through my career, or inspiring my online community, I show up everyday as Me. Unapologetically.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Becoming a content creator has its pros and cons. I was once a consumer of content, and now Im a producer. Seeing the other side has made me subject to others peoples opinions, its given me an insight into the way people think, process and receive information. Its given me insight into how different we all are and how our experiences have shaped how we interact without others and how we form opinions.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Learning my identity outside of being a mother and wife. I became a mother before i became a woman, and then I became a wife before knowing what that meant. Getting a divorce although a tough and uncomfortable decision, forced me to heal parts of me I didn’t even know were damaged. Realizing my worth and believing I deserved better than what I was allowing myself to have was the toughest journey to embark on, but I am so proud of myself for doing it. I can now show up as a better mom and human.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
I don’t care what anyone says, I believe in The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Working for someone else.
