We recently had the chance to connect with Feyisayo Anjorin and have shared our conversation below.
Feyisayo , we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What battle are you avoiding?
Looking back in the future and wishing I never did certain things, or wishing I did certain things.
That’s why I’m very careful with my choices.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a storyteller, telling the African story with my body and my voice, in songs, films, and books.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I’m still myself. I’ve had bad experiences with people who pretended to be friends but were enemies, but I’ve known before those times that such people exist, and I’ve prayed to God for the grace not to be like them.
When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
Oh, I had many instances of that, and those were my earliest times of prayer; those were the foundation of faith God helped me to have, because God answers prayers.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
My public version is real, but not as detailed as the real me.
I’ve very much human, just blessed to have grace working in me.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I’ve stopped doing it already. I live like my end can come in the next second, and I want the righteous judge to commend me when I finally see him; but if I’m certain it’s ten years I will just keep working with the Holy Spirit, to continue my purification like gold.
