We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jozaida Morris . Check out our conversation below.
Hi Jozaida , thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Well . A normal day for me is getting up for the gym early in the morning before i start my work day. I do also have a fitness page where i share my gym journey (fitwithjozaida) , And working from 10am-5pm, going home editing content , posting, working on the behind the scenes of my business. Making dinner/eating my meal prep and spending the last bit of time i have with my family at home.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jozaida Morris more known as Glam’d by Jo. My brand is being
Now a licensed master cosmetologist . I believe my work is so unique because i offer popular services like wigs, extensions, braids but I also tend to the natural hair doing natural cuts , definining curls , doing colors and any chemicals as well . Right now my brand I am heavily focused on sharing my knowledge through my new book “independent women: guide to success “. This book was made by me for women or men who want to start their independent stylist journey and don’t know where to begin, i guide you through it all from the beggining to currently where I am now. Sharing what I’ve learned along the way and what’s contributed to success. I am also working on dropping products very soon for my clients they can use at home for after care and nurturing their hair and skin.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was a young girl who was inspired by her family and her roots. Who knew who she wanted to be. I knew my passion from
A very young age, I thank god for that.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
My fear of failure. Of thinking someway somehow my hard work will not pay off. But that’s when you have to go into full speed. And the fruits of your labor will show. That’s why I’m always working on my next step.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Of course. People love authenticity and I’ve learned that the hard way. As long as your faking something you’ll never be that. You have to become the person you want to portray or you won’t fulfill your purpose faking.. I’m still human , I make mistakes and my clients know that.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Asking people for input on achievements/ goals i have and just go for it. All of it. Sometimes we just need validation but you can also validate yourself .
