BIG MEL of Castleberry Hill on Life, Lessons & Legacy

BIG MEL shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi BIG, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day consists of being thankful for making the day, rolling over checking for missed calls, texts and emails, I even check my spam for mail cause I receive a lot of goodies in my spam.
To my fellow readers, creators, business owners, etc…CHECK YOUR SPAM ALWAYS, IT’S IMPERATIVE. Taking care of my father before work, medicine, food and necessities that he needs before I head out for the day.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Melody Williams.
I am a versatile creative
I model, act, create content for brands, local Humanitarian in the city of Atlanta and I also have a catering company called Love whipping.

I can do just about anything, I also love learning and meeting new people. I love to speak through pictures, voice, fashion and food.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
When we just went through that CO VID 19 shutdown…
That showed me another world that I wasn’t expecting, even tho I have always known that we could always come into a pandemic, I just never thought it would shape the world so terribly. After 2020, I always live in reality but starting THOSE TIMES made me realize how the world is in a shambles.

When you were sad or scared as a child, what helped?
When I read this sentence, I had to think of something I was scared of as a child and the only thing I could think of was a scary house with ACTUAL PEOPLE, CHAIN SAWS, BELTS, BATS, MAKE UP 😩😩😩😆😆😆😆 I MADE IT TO THE 5th FLOOR AND RAN OUT THE DOOR WHEN I SEEN THEM WOLVES.

I HAVE BARELY BEEN SCARED OF ANYTHING, I AM THE BABY DAUGHTER OF 3 SONS 🤷🏾‍♀️💪🏾

When we left, they kept telling me they wasn’t real so I remembered that for the next time we went.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I need to get in the government on the public side, I don’t think it’s enough voices for the people, we need to stand firm in the paint, so I’m working on a shift to some type of services to the public on the government side of things, I already do things on the neighborhoods that the communities are in need of.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Everything I am doing is exactly what I wanted to do. I was going the pediatrician route, but life threw a couple of curves in the direction I’m going in now and I don’t regret it one bit.
I have always been photogenic, always had a desire to help people, love to cook and love to act and be a character on camera.
