Life & Work with Hadiyah Weaver of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hadiyah Weaver.

Hi Hadiyah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! Since our last feature, the journey has accelerated. I’m a storyteller at heart, originally from Memphis. My career began in broadcast journalism as a TV News Producer and in digital marketing at the National Civil Rights Museum. That foundation taught me how to find the core of a narrative and connect it with an audience.

But I wanted to tell stories in my own voice. I took a leap of faith into content creation, focusing on the film and TV space. By combining my journalistic skills with my personality, I built a niche recapping and analyzing shows, which led to brand partnerships with major streamers like Hulu, Peacock, and Prime Video.

Last year, I made another strategic leap, moving to Atlanta around my birthday to fully invest in the next chapter. I immersed myself in the industry here, starting with background acting on sets for Netflix and other productions to learn from the inside. That hands-on experience, combined with my creator background, has led to incredible opportunities, like partnering with Peacock for Bel-Air, Apple TV+, Pluto TV, and even sharing the stage with FOX Entertainment at Adweek in NYC.

So, while my journey started in a news control room in Memphis, today I’m in Atlanta actively building my career at the intersection of on-camera hosting, production, and creator strategy, and I feel like I’m just getting started.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has most definitely not been a smooth road, but I don’t think true growth ever is.

This past year was one of the most challenging personally, yet also one of the most rewarding professionally. The biggest struggle has been the transition from a structured, corporate environment to being a solo entrepreneur. In my past life as a TV news producer, I was used to high-stakes, fast-paced chaos, but I was with a team, a well-known brand, and decades of infrastructure behind me. Now, I am the team, the brand, and the infrastructure. I’m the artist, the accountant, and the strategist. That shift is a completely different type of pressure.

But that newsroom training is also my secret weapon. It taught me how to find the story under pressure, communicate clearly, and execute against a hard deadline, which is exactly how I landed and delivered on campaigns this year. So while the road isn’t smooth, the skills I built on it are what keep me moving forward. I wouldn’t change a thing.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Most of my audience knows me for my deep-dive recaps and analyses of major TV shows, which has led to partnerships where I produce exclusive content for networks like Peacock, Apple TV+, and Paramount+. I’m known for blending a journalist’s curiosity with relatability, and a bit of southern flair.

What I’m most proud of is preparing to use that platform in the new year to elevate the conversation. It’s not just about what to watch; it’s about understanding the cultural threads certain TV tropes to a bigger picture.

What sets me apart is my background. I’m not just a critic or a fan. I’m a storyteller. I’m excited to continue building my career at the intersection of performance, production, and pop culture analysis.

What makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is studying human nature. Yes, I love the natural world like trees, birds, the whole symphony, but I’m truly captivated by the nature of people.

It’s the specific, fleeting moments: the way my grandmother’s lips curl into a private smile at good news, the full-body leap of a child with an ice cream cone, the subtle choreography of strangers on a busy street. I’m fascinated by why we act the way we do, how we learn from mistakes, and how we grow in quiet, often unseen ways.

That’s the nature I love most. Observing it doesn’t just make me happy, it fuels my work. Those moments of authentic human behavior are where the most incredible stories are hidden, waiting to be told. I also love seeing a butterfly or two.
