Rising Stars: Meet Tyshon Freeman of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyshon Freeman.

Tyshon, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I got started in active when I was about 15 years old. My mom got me signed at John Casablanca, for a short stent, then I continued in high school drama. But believe it or not I got my major break in the entertainment industry as a music producer!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No road is ever truly smooth, life‘s a series of up and downs. I dealt with a lot of rejection and a lot of losses, but that comes to the territory. Anything worth having in life isn’t easy to obtain. You have to accept and understand that it’s the journey that matters not the destination. You dedicate a lot of time and a lot of practice to your craft. I lost a lot of relationships and quality time with family in pursuit of this, but they understood to an extent lol.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an actor and I’m known for a few of my roles and several television shows i.e. BMF, the gifted, the Quad, Atlanta, and The Walking Dead. Those are just a few of the shows. I had the privilege to be a part of. I’m most proud of the way people in the community. They have grown a connection with me over the years through film. The fans feel like I was able to spark inspiration inside a lot of people and that’s what I love about being a creative. I believe the thing that sets me apart is my genuine love for the craft and creativity. And the ability of connection.

How do you think about happiness?
Making a positive difference in people’s lives through art makes me happy! The arts saved my life, so if I can save someone else’s life by inspiring them through art…. is a blessing
