Good morning Sernesha , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I was always avoidant to accept that my calling was to help people heal from their various traumas. At first , I just brushed it off and ignored the confirmation from the lord:When I was praying to receive closure on what I’m meant to do on Earth!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am an Atlanta,Ga native .. Creative of many creations and a Self Published Author. My book is called “You Are The Generational Curse Breaker!” Sold on my website @ Serneshaburston.com
What makes my brand unique is that the Lord guided me to write and that led to a powerful solution created. A solution in the form of a book that will/has helped many lives. I didn’t copy anyone and I’ve always kept my individuality! My brand will always be authentic because life is not always glitz/glam. My brand will always be special because I am a massive creator and I know how to engage with many crowds.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was exactly who I am today plus progress/growth because I never let the world change me. People chase the grass that appears greener on the other side not knowing the other side is fake. What is broadcasting in this world as reality most of the time is filtered truth!
I refuse to burn out trying to chase materialistic things that won’t bring fulfillment. The truth of the matter is that none of that will matter when you leave this earth.
You can be influenced by the world and that depends on you.
Stay true to yourself because there will be no other YOU!
You never know what people did to get to where they are and for that fact never compare your journey to others!!
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain when I learned I was chosen for this life . I stopped asking the lord why and how? Then, I started to embrace my pain because I would not be who I was without it.
Generational Trauma is something that is brushed under the rug for many generations and in many families. Everyone suffers from Generational Trauma and it takes that one person (YOU) to reclaim your power back over your bloodline.
I started to tell myself why be ashamed of your journey as if you’re not chosen. As if, your story is not meant to guide individuals to empowerment, fulfillment , happiness , and freedom.
Why sign up to be a soldier if you’re not ready for war?!
No matter how much people have tried to judge me for being open about my healed scars…. The reality is I’d do it all over because the woman (me) that endured pain didn’t turn into it … but empowered it and made it profitable
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The biggest lie in my industry told is that you have to fake it until you make it. If you fake anything that means you were never who you’ve claimed to be. That’s very deceptive and you can lose creditability.
For me, personally I wouldn’t want to build a legacy that I’d one day pass on knowing that I’ve deceived many people just to make a profit!
What’s meant for you will be and you don’t have to ever second guess , dim yourself , be of the world , or fake it to you make it to receive what you’re destined for! If it’s in your destiny it may not come without a challenge to obtain but that’s life. Stop chasing and start attracting … Be authentic and live in your individuality that will get you further than faking it til you make it! If it’s meant for you … you’ll know
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
I would stop wasting my time and that’s the goal for 2026! If it doesn’t mean me well or if it’s not in my destiny it has to GO!
A lot of us don’t understand how crucial time really is. We think that we have all the time in the world but we truly don’t. Time just flies on by and it doesn’t wait for anyone. Spending time on stressing when one day you’re going to leave this earth alone should be a crime.
No matter how painful the journey gets trust me when I say this. It’s not the end all be all .. It’s just not and you can recover from all things. Some may take longer than others but put your faith in the Lord. Never lose hope and stop wasting time.
Go at your pace but if you want to start your business , travel the world , try that new hair color… then what’s stopping you ?! If you say money if it’s meant to be .. you will attract it not chase it .. You will attract it by still showing up when you don’t want to , keeping a positive mindset, getting your steps in order , and lastly/mainly let the Lord handle the rest for you ! Everything is not meant for you to handle!
