Today we’d like to introduce you to Amani Wortham.
Hi amani, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started creating makeup tutorials back in college on YouTube at the request of family and friends. Beauty has always been a huge part of my life and I would always get asked questions about what makeup products I used or how I styled my hair, so I decided to put out my first tutorial in 2017. What I thought would be a one time upload evolved into the career I have today as a full time content creator, influencer and podcast host. Since 2017, God has graced me with a social media presence that has blossomed and gone global.
Along with content creating, my other major hobby is travel. In 2025 I formed “Christian Girl’s Trip” that brings together solo female travelers for an annual international trip. We travel, fellowship, and make new friends while experiencing the world together.
My platform has transformed from simple hair and makeup tutorials to a real community that inspires, encourages and brings together women around the world.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not always been a smooth road for me. The transformations of life that we all experience, due to my career, have been visible on a public and platform. My evolution into the woman I am today has been open to public opinion and dissection, which comes with the territory. But overall, the support and love I receive from my audience has far outweighed any scrutiny. All-in-all, Im open to the ups and downs that comes with having a more publicized life. I take the good with the bad and God gives me grace for it all!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a full time lifestyle content creator, beauty influencer and podcast host of “Amani Talks Podcast”. I am tremendously proud of the work I create and put out, especially within the last few years. My podcast is what Im most proud of, as that is the platform I speak most openly about my faith and being a young woman following God in all areas ion my life. A lot of people have the idea that it’s either God or their career, God or their passions, God “or”, when really it has always been “God and”. My focus is to show women that God can be your center while still having the life you have dreamed of.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
There is no success without risk taking. It was a huge risk for me to change my content niche and focus about two years ago. The beginnings will be tough, but safety has never produced the winnings worth talking about. At first, I lost followers, but in the end, I gained a whole new audience. My platform grew, I hit 30K on YouTube, then 50K, then 100K. Every successful person tales risks, in business, in relationships, in all areas of life.
