Community Highlights: Meet Feifan Zheng of Fried Rice Master

Today we’d like to introduce you to Feifan Zheng.

Feifan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I moved to the United States when I was 18 years old. I first attended Georgia Perimeter College, where I studied ESL for two years. After that, I transferred to Georgia Tech and earned my bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, focusing on supply chain and data analytics.

In 2023, I founded Fried Rice Master in Kennesaw. The concept was built around a simple idea — allowing customers to create their own customized rice bowls and noodle bowls. We focus on bold flavors, fast service, and affordable pricing, while maintaining consistency and quality.

The goal from the beginning was to provide convenient, accessible Chinese food that fits into people’s busy lives, without sacrificing taste.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Entrepreneurship is never a smooth road. If someone says they had no challenges, it probably means they weren’t pushing hard enough. Every real step forward comes with friction.

For me, the challenges ranged from hiring and training the right team, to managing costs and maintaining consistency while growing. But I believe difficulties often point to where the real opportunities are. Where there is pressure, there is potential.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Fried Rice Master is a fast-casual Chinese restaurant built around customization and efficiency. We specialize in made-to-order rice bowls and noodle bowls, where customers can choose their base, protein, vegetables, and sauces to create something personal.

What sets us apart is our system-driven approach. With my background in industrial engineering, we focus heavily on workflow, consistency, and cost control while maintaining bold flavors. We are not a traditional Chinese restaurant — we are built for speed, consistency, and scalability

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to learn from mistakes. Success feels good, but it rarely teaches you much. Growth comes from analyzing what went wrong, taking responsibility, and improving from it.
