Hi Olamide Michelle , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my career as an attorney with a strong interest in creativity and culture. Early on, I noticed that many founders and artists were building powerful brands without fully understanding how to legally protect them. That gap became the foundation for OMI Legal.

I built OMI Legal as a boutique intellectual property and brand protection practice focused on trademarks, contracts, and long-term brand strategy. Over time, my work expanded beyond filings to helping entrepreneurs build legally sound foundations that support real growth and ownership.

As I worked closely with founders, I saw another need. Many were building impressive businesses while feeling isolated, burnt out, or disconnected from the community. That insight led to the creation of Ritual House.

Ritual House began as curated gatherings and evolved into a creative studio and year-long residency program for founders. The residency blends business strategy, brand development, wellness, and community support to help entrepreneurs grow in a more sustainable and aligned way.

Today, OMI Legal and Ritual House operate in conversation with one another. One protects and structures brands. The other cultivates vision, identity, and community. Together, they reflect my belief that lasting success requires both legal clarity and personal alignment.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a completely smooth road.

Like many founders, consistency has been one of the greatest disciplines. Building a law firm while simultaneously launching a community-based platform required structure, clarity, and a willingness to show up even when momentum felt slow. There were seasons where visibility was high and seasons where growth felt quiet. Learning to stay consistent through both has been critical.

Funding was another learning curve. Neither OMI Legal nor Ritual House began with outside investment. Every event, activation, and expansion required strategic reinvestment, careful budgeting, and creative partnerships. It forced me to become sharper about revenue models, sponsorships, and long-term sustainability rather than building for optics.

Relocation also shaped the journey. Navigating professional identity across different cities required rebuilding networks, reintroducing myself, and refining my positioning more than once. That process strengthened my understanding of brand clarity. When the message is clear, it travels.

One of the most powerful lessons has been realizing that I had to live the advice I give my clients. I often counsel founders to protect their work, define their identity, build systems, and stay consistent through uncertainty. There were moments where I had to pause and apply that same guidance to my own ventures.

Those challenges became teaching tools. They deepened my empathy for the founders I serve and strengthened my ability to advise them from experience rather than theory.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At its core, my work is about holistic growth and the creative experience.

I am an intellectual property and brand attorney, but I do not see legal protection as separate from identity, vision, or well-being. Through OMI Legal, I help founders protect and structure what they are building so their creativity can expand without fear. I specialize in trademark strategy, contracts, and long-term brand protection for entrepreneurs who are serious about building something sustainable.

Through Ritual House, I extend that philosophy beyond legal work. Ritual House is a creative studio and founder residency platform designed to support business growth alongside personal alignment. It blends strategy, community, wellness, and brand development in a way that allows founders to build without losing themselves in the process.

I am most proud of creating spaces where structure and creativity are not at odds. Whether I am advising a client on intellectual property or hosting a gathering for founders, the goal is the same: to help people grow in a way that is intentional, protected, and expansive.

What sets me apart is the integration. I understand the legal mechanics of building a brand, but I also understand the emotional, creative, and cultural layers that shape it. That dual lens allows me to support founders not just as a lawyer, but as a strategist and curator of meaningful growth.

What are your plans for the future?
The next chapter is focused on depth and expansion.

At Ritual House, I am building a more intentional private membership model through the founder residency. The goal is to cultivate a strong, curated community of entrepreneurs who are committed to long-term growth, not just one-off events. I am excited about deepening that ecosystem and creating more consistent touchpoints for members throughout the year.

I am also planning to expand our art-focused gatherings and creative programming. Art has always been central to the vision of Ritual House, and I want to continue highlighting diverse creatives, immersive experiences, and culturally rich events that bring founders and creatives together in meaningful ways.

In the near term, I am looking forward to hosting Common Ground in Austin during the energy surrounding SXSW. While not an official festival event, it is intentionally positioned during that week to create a restorative, elevated space for founders and creatives who are navigating high-visibility moments. That gathering represents the direction I am moving toward: thoughtful, high-level experiences that merge wellness, business, and culture.

Overall, the focus is on building platforms that are both intimate and expansive. Strong community. Strong structure. Strong creative identity.
