Today we’d like to introduce you to Kia Chambers.
Hi Kia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My leadership journey is deeply connected to the evolution of Prestige Property Brokers and my entrance into the public service arena.
We started as a small, independent brokerage right here in Columbus — built on faith, relationships, and a desire to serve our community well. In the early days, I wore every hat. I was the broker, marketer, trainer, encourager, and problem-solver. That season taught me resilience and forced me to lead with vision even when resources were limited.
As we grew, we explored the franchise model. It was a pivotal chapter in our story. There were definite pros — structure, national branding, expanded tools, and broader exposure. But there were also cons. We learned that not every opportunity aligns with your calling. While the franchise model offered scale, it limited the flexibility and local identity that meant so much to us.
That experience stretched me as a leader. It required humility to evaluate what was working, courage to admit what wasn’t, and confidence to pivot. Ultimately, we made the intentional decision to return to our roots — as a strong, local independent brokerage.
Today, Prestige Property Brokers is proudly independent again — and stronger because of the journey. We are not just selling homes; we are building a multi-service real estate company grounded in servant leadership. Our vision is to cultivate meaningful relationships, provide superior customer service, and ensure every agent is well-trained, on the cutting edge of realty, and committed to serving with character, loyalty, and integrity.
Our mission is deeply personal to me. We are committed to impacting the economic growth and development of Columbus, Georgia and the surrounding areas. We believe excellence isn’t optional — it’s the standard. We conduct business with professionalism and integrity, setting an ethical bar that exceeds expectations.
Leadership, for me, has evolved from simply running a brokerage to building a culture. A culture that reflects the city we love and serve. A culture where community involvement is not marketing — it’s who we are. And a culture where growth is measured not only in transactions, but in transformation.
Prestige has grown — and so have I. And the best chapters are still ahead.
Stepping into the political arena did not change who I am-it revealed the depth of who I was becoming. Serving for 12 years as a Citywide Representative on the Muscogee County School Board has strengthened my voice, sharpened my vision, and deepened my commitment to servan leadership.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
This journey into public service has stretched my faith, strengthened my resilience, and reminded me that leadership is both a calling and a responsibility. Being a public servant and a small business owner both require resilience under pressure, vision beyond the present, and the ability to lead people through uncertainty. In real estate, I learned how to weather market shifts. In public service, I’ve learned how to weather public opinion. Both require strategy, patience, and integrity.
Like any worthwhile endeavor, the road to establishing Prestige Property Brokers was not without its challenges. One of the most significant hurdles was establishing credibility and building a solid client base from scratch.
The business has evolved over time. In a competitive industry, gaining trust and recognition takes time and consistent effort. However, our commitment to innovation, professional service, and community engagement has helped us overcome obstacles and continue to grow. Our team’s dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence have been instrumental in the growth and success of Prestige Property Brokers. We are proud of how far we have come and excited for the future ahead.
We’ve been impressed with Prestige Property Brokers LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What am I most proud of?
From a public service perspective, I am most proud that I didn’t shrink when leadership required courage. I leaned in. Entrepreneurship prepared me for politics.
When you’ve built a business from the ground up, survived market downturns, and led a team through uncertainty — you’re not afraid of hard conversations or tough decisions.
I’m most proud of the culture we’ve built at Prestige Property Brokers. Transactions come and go, markets rise and shift — but culture is what lasts. We’ve built a brokerage where agents are not just independent contractors sharing office space. They are family. We support one another, challenge one another, and celebrate one another.
I’m proud that our growth has never come at the expense of our values. We have stayed rooted in servant leadership, professionalism, and integrity — even when it would have been easier to take shortcuts.
What am I known for?
I’m known for leading with both strength and heart. I set high standards, but I also invest deeply in people. I believe in training, development, and staying on the cutting edge of realty — but I also believe relationships are the true foundation of this business.
People know that when they work with Prestige, they are working with professionals who are ethical, prepared, and community-minded. And agents know that when they join Prestige, they are stepping into a culture of accountability, collaboration, and growth.
What do I want readers to know?
I want readers to know that the agents at Prestige Property Brokers truly operate like family — and that matters. Because when you operate like family, you protect the brand, you protect each other, and most importantly, you protect the client.
Our agents put the best interests of their clients at the forefront — every single time. We are not driven by commission; we are driven by commitment. We advocate. We educate. We guide. And we serve with character, loyalty, and integrity.
At the end of the day, Prestige is more than a brokerage. It’s a standard. It’s a community. And it’s a reflection of the city we love and serve.
Different arenas. Same resilience.
Real estate built my endurance. Public service sharpened my courage. Both refined my leadership.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
In the ever-evolving realm of real estate, young professionals should embrace flexibility, allowing them to adeptly respond to market shifts. Additionally, persistence is a valuable skill to cultivate. Real estate deals can be complex and challenging, but with perseverance, we can overcome obstacles and find solutions. In this field, “no” doesn’t always mean “no” – persistence can lead to opportunities and successful deals.
Being a problem solver is another essential quality. Putting together deals and keeping them intact requires creative thinking and the ability to find win-win solutions for all parties involved. Lastly, having a passion for real estate goes beyond just the financial aspect. It’s about being driven by a desire to make a difference – whether it’s transforming the economic landscape of an area or helping families achieve their dreams of homeownership. Finding that deeper passion and purpose in what you do is what fuels long-term success and fulfillment in the real estate business.
Those same skills have strengthened my effectiveness in public service-allowing me to adapt to challenges, navigate complex issues, and find solutions that serve the greater good.
