Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Sanders.
Hi Justin , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ll make it short. I started playing the drums at 4years old. I started playing for the church at 7. From about 16-22 I toured around the us playing drums for gospel groups. Around 23 I started dj’n for frats and house parties. Soon moved to clubs. Around 26 I started producing and engineering. Then moved to ATL to further my music. I go hooked up with a local independent label here in ATL and started producing for them and multiple artist in music. Names like Future,Big Scar,PeeWee Longway,Euro Gotit,Kenny Mason just to name a few. I also linked up with Foogiano and after we met I became one of his in house producers and also was his tour Dj. Now I still produce for a number of artists and also help write songs.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been smooth but it’s been fun. I’ve had to change how I do music multiple times. I’ve lost a bunch of friends. I’ve lost my way multiple times but God always brings me back full circle.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I do multiple things whe it comes to music. I still play drums for hire. I Dj mostly private and corporate events. I own and operate a studio. On top of producing, mixing, and writing songs. Most people would say I specialize in helping them bring there idea to life. I’m most proud me puttting out my first song as a Dj/Artist. Titled (Thank You God). I would say my drive and unorthodox approach to producing and making music is what sets me apart.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
YouTube helps a lot with learning and ideas. My network of friends in music are probably my biggest resource!
