Daily Inspiration: Meet Lindsay Hartmann

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Hartmann.

Hi Lindsay, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My photography journey started in high school with a darkroom class that I loved. In college, I worked for the school newspaper as staff photographer then photo editor while occasionally photographing for the city paper as well. I loved photo journalism and capturing sports. I worked for the Atlanta Gladiators hockey team for a few years through college and after. In 2014 I photographed my first wedding and was hooked.

I started my business Double N Media in 2020. I am now a full time wedding photographer who specializes in capturing candid moments and natural portraits so my couples can fully enjoy their special day without feeling awkward or staged.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I never thought I wanted my own business. However, as I continued to grow my photography skills, I was also learning more about entrepreneurship. One of the biggest challenges I’ve found is how isolating growing your business on your own can be. Going from a 9-5 job with a specific schedule and co-workers to talk to is very different than working at home trying to build a business from scratch. Thankfully, I’ve made friends in my industry that are experiencing the same thing I am and we get together to work and bounce ideas off each other.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am owner of Double N Media. I’m a full time wedding photographer who specializes in capturing candid moments and natural portraits so my couples can fully enjoy their special day without feeling awkward or staged. I strive to create a relaxed, fun experience before, during, and after the wedding day. What sets me apart from other wedding photographers is the printed products I provide. All my couples walk away with a stunning heirloom album we design together. I strongly believe wedding photos should not live on a phone or some thumb drive shoved in a drawer. As technology changes, clients shouldn’t have to worry if they can still access their photographs. They will be printed in a gorgeous book, preserved for future generations.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
A great book I’ve read for my business is Building a StoryBrand by Donald Miller.
I really enjoy listening to Simon Sinek’s podcast A Bit of Optimism.
And as someone who is trying to grow in my faith, the Hallow app is really fantastic.
