Today we’d like to introduce you to SARAH OMODELE.
Hi SARAH, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey to creating Unlayered Health & Wellness really started through years of caring for patients and seeing a pattern that I couldn’t ignore. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, I’ve worked in Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Mental Health, and clinical research, and over time I saw how deeply lifestyle, stress, hormones, and metabolism were affecting people’s health — often long before disease showed up on paper.
I realized that traditional healthcare is excellent at treating illness, but many people were still struggling with fatigue, weight gain, hormonal changes, and feeling disconnected from themselves. They didn’t just need prescriptions — they needed guidance, education, and someone to walk with them through real change.
At the same time, I was navigating my own journey balancing career, family, and wellness. That experience gave me a deeper understanding of how easy it is to lose yourself while taking care of everyone else. It shaped my belief that health isn’t just about treating and preventing diseases— it’s about identity, confidence, and feeling like yourself again.
That’s how Unlayered Health & Wellness was born. The name reflects the idea of peeling back the layers — stress, habits, mindset, hormonal shifts — to help people reconnect with their healthiest, most authentic selves. Today, I combine medical expertise with lifestyle medicine, coaching, and metabolic and hormone optimization to help patients create sustainable results, not quick fixes.
My mission is simple: to help people feel better, live with more energy and confidence, and build a foundation of health that lasts.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road — and honestly, I think that’s true for most meaningful journeys.
One of the biggest challenges was realizing that the traditional healthcare model didn’t always allow enough time or space to truly help people create lasting change. I often saw patients who needed deeper support around lifestyle, hormones, stress, and mindset, but the system is designed around quick visits and symptom management. That gap was frustrating because I knew people needed more.
Another challenge was building something of my own while balancing work, family, and personal growth. Entrepreneurship requires a different level of courage — stepping into uncertainty, learning business skills, and trusting your vision even before others fully understand it.
There were also moments of self-doubt. Starting Unlayered meant redefining my identity from provider within a system to leader and founder creating a new model of care. But those struggles helped clarify my mission and strengthened my commitment to doing healthcare differently.
Looking back, the challenges were actually part of the process. They shaped the heart of Unlayered — a practice built on authenticity, compassion, and the belief that real transformation takes time, support, and a personalized approach.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a Family Nurse Practitioner and the founder of Unlayered Health & Wellness, a practice focused on metabolic health, hormone optimization, and lifestyle medicine. My work centers on helping people — especially women navigating midlife changes — understand what’s happening in their bodies and create sustainable, long-term improvements in their health.
I specialize in metabolic optimization, weight management, hormone balance, and preventive care. My approach combines medical expertise with coaching, education, and lifestyle medicine because I believe true transformation happens when we address the whole person — not just symptoms or lab numbers.
Over the years, I’ve become known for taking a personalized, compassionate approach and for helping patients feel seen and understood. Many people come to me after feeling dismissed or frustrated elsewhere, and what they often say is different about my care is that I listen deeply, educate clearly, and walk alongside them through the process instead of just handing them a prescription.
What I’m most proud of is building a model of care that blends science with humanity. Seeing patients regain energy, confidence, and a sense of control over their health is incredibly meaningful to me. I’m also proud that Unlayered reflects my own values — authenticity, empowerment, and sustainable change.
What sets me apart is the combination of my clinical background across multiple specialties, my training in lifestyle medicine and health coaching, and my personal understanding of what it means to balance career, family, and wellness. I don’t just focus on weight or hormones in isolation — I help people peel back the layers that impact their health so they can reconnect with the best version of themselves.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned on this journey is that purpose is often born from struggle. The challenges, frustrations, and moments of uncertainty weren’t detours — they were actually pointing me toward what I was meant to build.
I’ve learned that growth rarely feels comfortable. Following your vision will stretch you, challenge your confidence, and push you to grow in ways you never imagined. There were moments when the path felt scary and unclear, but those moments also taught me resilience, clarity, and trust in my calling.
I truly believe that our struggles reveal where we’re meant to serve. The pain points I experienced — both personally and professionally — helped me understand what people are really going through and shaped the heart behind Unlayered Health & Wellness.
If there’s one lesson I carry forward, it’s this: don’t run from the hard seasons. Lean into them. Often, that’s where your purpose is being formed, and on the other side is the version of you that’s ready to make the impact you were meant to make.
