Exploring Life & Business with Brandy Henderson of Brandywine Farm & Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandy Henderson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I began my career as a dental hygienist and spent 15 years working in private practice before transitioning into education. I taught for one year at Georgia Highlands College and then for six years at Rockmart High School. For the past four years, I have served as an assistant principal, continuing my passion for supporting students and education.

In 2019, our family began planning a very special event, my son’s wedding, on our farm. Initially, we planned to rent tents for the occasion, but when COVID-19 caused the wedding to be postponed, we were given an unexpected opportunity. During that time, we decided to build a barn, originally intended to store hay after the wedding.

Soon after, my daughter became engaged and planned her wedding for May 2021. What started as a simple hay barn quickly evolved into something much more meaningful, a beautiful venue for our family celebrations. Both of our children, Bailey and Jackson, were married at what is now known as Brandywine Farm in 2021.

After investing more into the space than we originally anticipated, we realized we had created something truly special. We decided to open our venue to others so that families in our community could enjoy a beautiful, welcoming space for their own celebrations at a reasonable price. Today, Brandywine Farm hosts weddings, as well as, a variety of other events.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We have had a wonderful start to our venue and have been intentional about growing at a steady, thoughtful pace. From the beginning, our goal has been to ensure that every guest has an exceptional experience. By starting small, we have been able to focus on quality and attention to detail.

Each year, we continue to learn more about what our clients value and need in a venue. This has allowed us to make meaningful improvements and expand in ways that best serve our guests. As a result, we have experienced steady growth while staying true to our commitment to excellence.

We’ve been impressed with Brandywine Farm & Events, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Brandywine Farm & Events is a small, family-owned, boutique-style venue in Rockmart, Georgia. We love getting to know our clients and tailoring our farm to each individual wedding and event. Our farm is the perfect setting for a romantic, rustic, or boho wedding with a picturesque forest backdrop. The covered barn features a built-in bar and counters made out of cedar logs, dreamy string lights over the dance floor, and hosts up to 200 guests. Host any event, from bridal showers and weddings to birthday parties, baby showers, and more.
