Community Highlights: Meet Kyandukhta Kalantari of Dentistry at Kennesaw Point

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyandukhta Kalantari.

Hi kyandukhta, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My path to becoming a Doctor of Dental Surgery started early, driven by a natural interest in science and medicine. I began my dental education at Phoenix College, studying dental hygiene, and later completed my Bachelor of Science at Dr. D.Y. Patil Dental College & Hospital. I went on to earn my DDS from New York University Medical School, where I focused on dental implantology, cosmetic dentistry, and general dentistry.

Since 2007, I’ve worked to create a calm, comfortable experience for patients of all ages, drawing on my gentle approach and my fluency in both English and Farsi. Originally from Mumbai, India, I’ve been proud to serve the Kennesaw community since 2008 and now also practice in Lilburn, GA. I’m equally committed to giving back and volunteer my time at the Ben Massell Dental Clinic.

Staying current with the rapid advancements in dentistry is important to me, so I pursue continuing education every year and maintain active membership in several professional organizations.

I’ve made my home in Marietta, in Cobb County. Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my three college‑aged children and my two dogs. When I’m not practicing dentistry, you’ll often find me reading, cooking, playing tennis, or watching movies.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road definitely hasn’t always been smooth. Like many people who pursue a career in healthcare, I faced my share of challenges both personal and professional. Moving between countries for my education required constant adjustment, from navigating new academic systems to adapting to different cultures and expectations. Balancing rigorous coursework with the financial and emotional realities of being far from home pushed me to grow quickly.

Starting my career in the United States came with its own hurdles. Establishing myself in a new community, earning patients’ trust, and building a practice from the ground up took persistence and long hours. As a mother, I also had to learn how to juggle the demands of raising three children while advancing my career in a field that evolves rapidly.

But every challenge shaped me into a stronger, more empathetic dentist. Those experiences taught me resilience, patience, and the importance of staying committed to my goals. Looking back, the difficult moments were often the ones that propelled me forward the most.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My practice is built around one simple belief: every patient deserves exceptional dentistry delivered with compassion, honesty, and genuine care. I focus on creating an environment where people feel comfortable, informed, and truly listened to because great dental care is about more than procedures; it’s about trust.

Clinically, I specialize in cosmetic dentistry, dental implantology, and comprehensive general dentistry. Whether someone needs a routine cleaning, a full smile makeover, or long term restorative care, my goal is always the same: to provide high quality, personalized treatment using the most current techniques and technology available. I’m committed to staying at the forefront of the field, which is why I pursue continuing education every year and remain active in several professional organizations.

What sets my practice apart is the combination of technical expertise and a gentle, patient centered approach. I take time to explain treatment options, answer questions, and make sure patients feel confident in their care. My fluency in English and Farsi also helps me connect with a wider community, and I’m proud to serve patients from many different backgrounds.

Brand‑wise, I’m most proud of the reputation we’ve built for integrity, comfort, and consistency. Many of my patients have been with me for years, and they often refer their friends and family that trust means everything to me. I also believe strongly in giving back, which is why I volunteer at the Ben Massell Dental Clinic to provide care for underserved communities.

What were you like growing up?
I just cared deeply about doing things thoroughly and thoughtfully. That combination of precision and patience has stayed with me throughout my life and continues to shape the way I care for my patients today.
