Community Highlights: Meet Jamie Ingram of J.I. Designs and Decor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Ingram.

Hi Jamie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have long been passionate about interior design, a passion I began pursuing professionally in 2014 while working under an established interior designer in Duluth. During this time, I balanced hands-on experience with formal design education, gaining a degree in design and a strong foundation in both the creative and operational aspects of the industry.

Following her retirement, I assumed responsibility for her client base, which provided valuable experience in managing projects and maintaining client relationships. I then expanded my expertise by collaborating with a kitchen and bath remodeling specialist, where I was introduced to a new dimension of design. The transformative impact of renovations and remodels on a home was both inspiring and eye-opening.

Since then, I have developed a high level of proficiency in this area of design and continue to challenge myself by refining my skills and embracing new opportunities for growth within the industry.

Currently, I am working as a freelance designer for multiple contractors in the Atlanta area. Assisting them with project management and material selections.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The challenges I have encountered throughout my career have provided valuable opportunities to expand my expertise and explore a new world of design. Each obstacle has served as a meaningful learning experience, contributing to both my professional growth and adaptability.

One of the most significant milestones in my career was the decision to establish myself independently and cultivate my own client base. While this transition required initiative and resilience, it ultimately strengthened my confidence in the design trade.

Prior to this, I experienced a seamless progression from formal education into a role with a retail design firm, where I further developed my skills as an interior designer in a professional setting.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I bring comprehensive experience in restoration, new construction, and home staging, partnering closely with both homeowners and real estate professionals.

I am known for guiding clients through every phase of their project—from initial concept to final walkthrough—while remaining readily available to support thoughtful decision-making at each step.

My approach emphasizes innovative, detail-driven solutions that go beyond the expected. With a well-rounded background across all aspects of interior design, I offer a level of versatility that distinguishes my work.

Above all, I take pride in the growth of my brand, which is rooted in synergy and strong client relationships. My goal is to ensure each client feels confident, supported, and genuinely connected to every detail of their home.

What are your plans for the future?
My long-term vision is to expand my business into Florida and establish a scalable franchise model. I aim to build teams of full-time designers who are aligned with my philosophy and approach, ensuring a consistent, high-quality client experience across every location.
Owning my own studio for clients to visit and select each material needed to complete their project.
