Today we’d like to introduce you to Neil Blue.
Neil, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started training my senior year of college in fall of 2020. The next year I was going to get my first certification and personal training and create my LLC for my training brand Shape Your Future. Over the years it’s been a roller coaster trying to dedicate time to the business between the military, other jobs, family, etc. Recently, God has put me in a position to focus all my time on the brand and growing it through community at my home gym Stick Shift Fitness and a youth track developmental league I began coaching with this year, the Union City Eagles. The connections are made over these past couple of months have helped build a strong foundation for my personal community which I still plan on growing to reach out to as many people as I can promoting wellness not just physically but spiritually, emotionally, socially, intellectually, and occupationally. The goal is to be a pillar in as many places as God allows me bringing people together through faith and fitness. I’m excited for the upcoming months and years to see how not only the brand grows but how many people I can positively affect along the way.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
A lot of struggles center mainly around time and resources. Some struggles included finding a home gym, which I feel like it’s solved now. A couple times I was told that I was going to have to leave for the military for 6+ months but I feel like that was God showing me that I need to be focused on what He’s told me to do because I would push the brand aside to knock out side quest instead of going forward in what I was called to do. In the end I have yet to go on these military missions so the priority is the brand and to stay focused on what I’ve been called to do.
We’ve been impressed with Shape Your Future LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
So like I said, I started my brand in 2021 a little under a year after I graduated college with a health degree and shortly after I got my first certification in personal training. I specialize in strength and conditioning, program design, and speed and agility. I would say a lot of people know me from being extremely personable and keeping everything. I do centered around God. I think what sets me apart is my drive to bring people together and me genuinely wanting to see other people win by being a selfless server. Right now, I guess my most proud moment would be getting trademarked earlier this year. And as far as what I would want people to know is that I conduct Bible studies planning on starting a nonprofit and starting a youth mentorship group. If I’m able, I do travel because I don’t want to hold myself to just one location although I do prioritize home.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I feel like success is defined by how well you fulfill your purpose and that looks different for everybody. Personally I feel like my purpose is rooted in bringing people closer to Christ, and affecting lives in a positive way. So not only showing people how to live a better life but leading by example as well because you never know who’s watching and who is affected by what you say or do.
