Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Leslie.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was raised in Atlanta , GA , on the east side of atlanta. Younger I was heavily involved i. the community. Sports , extra curricular activities and after school programs. Around the age of 10 I started getting a natural interest in makeup and one day I begged my mom to do my brows and of course she accidentally shaved half of my right brow off and that was it ! I picked up a makeup brush and haven’t put it down since. When just fixing an eyebrow I instantly knew makeup was my gift. I felt confident, happy and as if I was in a flow state. I started officially offering makeup services in High school from homecoming , prom , even the cheerleading team before friday night lights it helped because I was on the team Ha ! & I just continued to grow and keep pushing myself.. Over the years i’ve had the pleasure of doing TV and Film , celebrity clients such as Social media influencer Ari Fletcher , Reigndrop Lopes the sister of TLC’s lefteye , Andrea kelly to name a few and programs like lifetime network and Good day Atlanta. As of 2026 i’m focusing on being more in front of the camera and influencing , I want to make the beauty world FUN AGAIN and creative.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Atlanta can seem like a saturated market and it can definitely be intimidating especially with the talent here , but one thing i’ve learned and is not only have to believe in yourself but focus on your plate ! Looking at others plates does nothing but take food from yours ! There’s enough people in this world to support your dreams , there is no limit. Also comparison , in beauty world especially you can’t compare someone who is a beginner to have the makeup skills of a pro makeup artist , IT TAKES TIME ! Comparison is the thief of joy and time waits on no one so just start and take that leap of faith.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a professional makeup artist , I specialize in tv/film makeup and special effects makeup. I feel like i’m known for my glam , i’m ALWAYS glammed up no matter the occasion. I think i’m most proud of my experience with Ari , I was so nervous and really wanted to do an amazing job and it ended up being one of the great experiences! I believe what sets me apart from others is that I genuinely enjoy makeup , the idea of it , the process and the final product. I never started makeup for money or really any type of return , I do it because it’s my gift , my hands are my gift and I love taking people from a 10 to a higher 10. Makeup makes you feel , My quote that I innvented and always say to clients “Makeup is makeup , exactly that , you are what you MAKEUP” that’s the beauty and that’s why I yearn for creativity to come back into the beauty community .. everything is so nude , so clean girl , so drab ! What happened to colors ? cut creases and smokey everything? BRING IT BACK !

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Good luck definitely follows me around , in some scenarios where I never would think i’d get picked , thats exactly what happened. For example the opportunity with Ari was so slim and seemed like going on a whim just for me to end up getting chosen !
