Life & Work with Aliyah Green of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aliyah Green.

Hi aliyah , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always loved beauty from a young age. I use to wear makeup from magazines because my mom told me i was too young to actually buy makeup lol. After graduating high school, my mom asked me what i wanted to do with my career and i told her MAKEUP. She sent me to beauty school and it went up from there. I worked for so many beauty companies and that’s where my love bag deeper for make up. I ended up going to estheticianschool because I wanted to learn more about the skin underneath me up. Fast forward i’ve been waxing for about 2 years now, and doing some facials here and there. My creativity is constantly evolving. I am now doing nails which kinda came outta nowhere lol! but it’s been a creative outlet for sure!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There has definitely been some struggles. For example sometimes i get into a creative blockage which creates me to feel unmotivated. When i get in those spaces i try and find something that inspires me, like looking at my pinterest board, or tiktok scrolling at the content girlies. Another struggle is people not seeing my worth. For example, people wanting free or discounted services when i have an actual business that i use to pay for my life. Another struggle is comparing myself to others, i’m working on that tho!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I do it all! lol. I am a makeup artist/esthetician/nail tech/model (sometimes)/content creator. I’m a one stop shop! lol I specialize in waxing and makeup for right now, but I’m adding more to my list as we speak. The most proud of my girls I’ve came a long way, and i’ve learned sooo much from my peers. What sets me apart is that it’s me, i create a comfortable and unique space for people. There is only OneAliyah.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I would have to say being at my grandmother’s while she cleans and burns incense, listening to Sweet love by Anita Baker.
