Today we’d like to introduce you to Terrence Stephens.
Hi Terrence, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in Maryland as an only child, which forced me to mature early—figure things out on my own, stay disciplined, and hold myself accountable. Football became my outlet and my foundation. It carried me to Stanford University, where I played at the collegiate level, and eventually into the National Football League. That journey taught me how to compete, how to handle pressure, and how to stay locked in on long-term goals.
About 13 years ago, I moved to Atlanta, and that’s where everything shifted. Transitioning out of football challenged me to redefine who I was beyond the game—but it also opened the door to real estate.
I started from scratch, building trust, learning people, and grinding through the process. Over time, I realized I wasn’t just helping clients buy homes—I was helping them build wealth and step into new chapters of their lives.
Today, everything I do is centered around growth and impact—whether it’s in real estate or creating spaces like T3 Talks for real, meaningful conversations. And the mindset is simple: this is just the beginning.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all—it’s been anything but smooth. From the outside, people see the highlights, but the reality is there have been some defining moments that really tested me.
Transitioning out of the National Football League was already a major shift—losing that structure and identity forces you to figure out who you are beyond the game. But in 2019, I went through a life-changing injury that completely altered my path. That moment slowed everything down and forced me to sit with myself in a way I never had before. It wasn’t just physical—it challenged me mentally and emotionally too.
Around that same time, I experienced some real personal loss—losing people close to me. That kind of pain hits different. It puts life into perspective and makes you reevaluate what really matters, how you show up, and who you’re doing all of this for.
Then stepping into real estate in Atlanta brought its own set of challenges. No guaranteed income, no shortcuts—just consistency and belief. There were slow seasons, deals that fell apart, and moments where doubt could’ve easily taken over.
But all of it—the injury, the loss, the uncertainty—built something in me. It forced resilience, discipline, and a deeper level of purpose. It taught me how to keep moving forward even when life doesn’t feel fair.
So no, it hasn’t been smooth. But those moments are exactly what shaped the mindset I carry today.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At my core, I’m a real estate advisor—but I don’t approach it like a typical agent. Based in Atlanta, I specialize in helping clients—especially relocations and buyers of new construction—navigate the process with clarity and confidence. A lot of my clients are moving from out of state, so I take pride in not just helping them find a home, but really educating them on the market, the communities, and the long-term value of their decisions.
What I’m known for is my level of intention and communication. I don’t just “open doors”—I guide strategy. I ask the right questions, I anticipate concerns before they come up, and I make sure my clients feel informed every step of the way. For me, it’s not about transactions—it’s about impact. These are life decisions tied to finances, family, and future goals, and I take that seriously.
What I’m most proud of is the trust I’ve built. A lot of my business comes from referrals and repeat clients, which tells me I’m doing something right. That means more to me than any single deal or number.
And what sets me apart is the mindset I bring into it. Coming from a background of playing at Stanford University and the National Football League, I treat this like a profession that requires preparation, discipline, and consistency. I don’t wing it—I show up ready.
On top of that, I’ve created spaces like T3 Talks because I believe success isn’t just about business. It’s about growth across the board—mentally, physically, financially, and relationally. That holistic approach carries over into how I serve people.
At the end of the day, I’m proud that people don’t just see me as someone who helped them buy a home—they see me as someone who helped them move forward in life.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
One thing that surprises people is that, despite playing at Stanford University and in the National Football League—environments that are loud, high-energy, and competitive by nature—I’m actually very introspective.
A lot of my growth hasn’t come from the spotlight, but from the quiet. I spend a lot of time reflecting, thinking, and really analyzing my decisions, my habits, and how I show up in different areas of life. I’m big on self-awareness, discipline, and protecting my mental space—probably more than people would expect.
Another thing is how much I value depth over surface-level interactions. Whether it’s with clients, friends, or through T3 Talks, I’m intentional about having real conversations. Not just “what do you do,” but “how are you really doing?” That’s something I’ve grown into, especially after going through adversity—it shifted my perspective.
So while people might see the business, the athlete background, or the outward confidence, what really drives me is a constant internal focus on growth, alignment, and becoming better in every area of life.
