Today we’d like to introduce you to Jermaine (2 Gun Yvng) Watkins.

Hi Jermaine (2 Gun Yvng), thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Jermaine Watkins stage name 2 Gun Yvng(Young) I was born in buffalo ny and raised in some of the worst parts of the city mainly the East side. I’m a Hip hop recording artist and actor .Some may refer to me as a rapper but I prefer to be labeled an artist .my story shares many of the same details as plenty others. struggle pain , glory shame ,etc. But just like everybody else my story has its own events and lessons that helped mold me into the man I am today. Before fully understanding and accepting my purpose, I unfortunately spent a lot of my life and most of my teenage life in prisons . Today I share my life and real life situations people go through while only finding glory in the Things I overcame .i started rapping at about 5 ,6 years old ,my big cousin use to record me before I could really put words together lol just making up words . I’d say I start taking it more serious when I was 13 ,14 years of age . Acting came later on life .I’m currently in the process of acting the role of one of the Main characters for a movie being shot titled Absurd wich is estimated to be released summer of 2026. Buffalo Ny born but I love GA ,living ,food music the list goes on . I have new music being released soon giving people addressing real topics told with skill and versatility.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth road for me to be blunt it’s has been a rocky road .my path came with many hills and walls ,discredit ,being ignored, not included ,financial struggles ,u name it i dared not rap about having money knowing i was struggling just to pay for a meal yet alone a studio session.My timeline comes with many struggles but there is not enough space to discuss them all .I lost my mother to suicide and left to care for my lil sister when I myself was going through 1 of the most traumatic experiences of my life not including the sudden death of my mother .in addition my grandmother died of cancer almost immediately after .Life full of tests passed only because of the strength God allowed me to carry ,not to toot my own horn but I am a walking testament.

My name is 2 Gun Yvng ,The Yvng being pronounced Young .The V in the Yvng is to represent the victory of all the weapons formed against me that God did not allow to prosper .lessons came from loses ,so in my eyes I still found victory after defeat. I am a hip hop artist and actor .my passion for music reflects in my sound .1 thing I am very proud of is my drive to keep going and to keep getting better at my craft.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
First and Foremost All credit is due to God because without Him I would have never had the privilege of having certain people play a role in my life that helped and inspired me .Unfortunately I won’t be able to name everyone but I am grateful for them no less .,My Grandmother Mary Holloman who passed when I was a teenager,my Mother Ronda ,my grandmother Barbara Wilson ,my mentor and brother in faith Noradeen (Lawrence Lockhart) .Noradeen taught me how taught me so much ,may he rest in
paradise,and my friend and brother Brandon Callahan and Travis Herbert A.K.A Trizzy Trav . There are others but too many for me to mention.
