Today we’d like to introduce you to Anamika Chrai.
Hi Anamika, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always been drawn to creativity and storytelling, which led me to study media and advertising and build an early career in PR, marketing, and social media. Because of that background, content creation felt like a very natural fit for me – it combined everything I genuinely enjoy creativity, strategy, visual storytelling, and connecting with people.
Moving to New Jersey in 2016 was a major turning point in my journey. I was starting fresh in a new place, and content creation became both a creative outlet and a way for me to express myself while building something of my own. At the time when i Started in 2017, the creator space wasn’t nearly as saturated as it is today, so being part of that early wave gave me the opportunity to experiment, evolve, and grow organically.
Over the years, what started as a passion project turned into something much bigger. I realized content creation is more than just posting online for me. it’s a form of self-expression and something I genuinely love. From conceptualizing ideas to bringing campaigns to life, I enjoy every part of the process.
Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to work with incredible brands and experience milestones I once only dreamed about. Some standout moments include walking at New York Fashion Week in 2023 and being invited by Meta to attend their first-ever Creator Festival in the U.S., where I was one of 100 creators selected across different niches.
What has made this journey especially rewarding is being able to collaborate with brands and projects that feel authentic to me. Looking back, every step from my professional background to taking a leap in a new city—has shaped where I am today, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely wasn’t a smooth journey—there were quite a few challenges along the way. When I started, the creator space was still very new, and not many people were familiar with it. I often had to explain what I do, as content creation wasn’t yet widely understood as a career.
Alongside that, I was balancing a full-time job and content creation, and later stepping into motherhood added another layer of responsibility. There were definitely moments of discouragement, but what always grounded me was my love for creating. I reached a point where I realized I would rather spend an extra hour creating content than sleeping, and that shift really pushed me to take this path more seriously.
Over time, it has opened so many new avenues for me and really fueled my entrepreneurial mindset across different areas. It’s also been rewarding to see the industry evolve into a well-established space with dedicated opportunities and marketing budgets. Looking back, those early challenges played a key role in shaping my journey, and once I committed fully, there was no looking back.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a lifestyle and fashion content creator with a background in media, advertising, PR, and social media, which naturally shaped the way I approach content today. I focus on creating visually driven, story-led content that blends everyday lifestyle moments with fashion, beauty, and travel in a way that feels both aspirational and relatable.
Over time, I’ve built my work around authenticity and intention. I don’t just create content for the sake of it—I focus on storytelling, brand alignment, and creating work that feels natural rather than overly curated. My audience has grown with me through different phases of life, including career shifts and motherhood, which has added a very real and grounded layer to my content.
What I’m most proud of is the consistency and evolution of my journey from starting in the early days of content creation when it wasn’t widely understood, to now collaborating with established brands and being part of major moments like New York Fashion Week and Meta’s Creator Festival.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
While growing up, I was an observer by nature, but also very expressive and joy, happiness, empathy, and emotion came very naturally to me. I was academically strong, but at the same time I always had a creative flair and a deep interest in exploring new things.
I found joy in learning different forms of expression whether it was belly dancing, Zumba, yoga or even exploring modeling. Even if I couldn’t fully articulate it at the time, I always knew I would choose a path that allowed me to stay connected to that creative, expressive side of myself.
That instinct naturally guided me toward media, advertising, and social media, and eventually into content creation. I’ve always followed what felt right to me rather than following the crowd, even when the path wasn’t fully defined.
Over time, all of these experiences have come together to shape not just my creative journey, but also my entrepreneurial mindset. Today, I’m stepping further into that vision by taking the entrepreneurial plunge and building something that fully aligns with my creative expression and long-term goals.
