Meet Chase Roosen of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chase Roosen.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I got my first DSLR camera, a Canon Rebel T7, back in 2019. I would use it take nature photos, as I felt it was the easiest way to jump right in to an art form I had no proper experience in. I fell in love with the process of being able to creatively express myself, as I had always wanted an avenue to do so, but I was never talented in the arts of painting or drawing. Every now and then I would take photos of my friends for their Instagram posts, or any cover art they wanted for the music they would put out, but it was nothing that crazy. I started taking this much more seriously when I brought my camera on a hike with my friend and took photos of her. When we had gotten back she told me I had a talent in bringing out the beauty and raw emotion in people. Those words helped jumpstart what would become RoosenMedia and what I strive to accomplish in my craft.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Creatively, I am at the top of my game. I have been consistently leveling up my craft by studying and surrounding myself with people who are not afraid to constructively criticize my work. I often think of myself as a top-tier photographer, and as to not get engulfed by my own ego, I need to surround myself with people who bring me back down to Earth. Yes, what I am doing is great, but it can always be better.

While I am riding high with my creative output, I have faced some struggles in terms of finding validation in my work. Once I started taking my business super seriously, I got caught up in the idea of how much money I could be making through my work. If the money is flowing, I must be doing something good. I expected a full 0-100 jump, and naturally, that did not happen. Business was static for a very long time, and that was incredibly discouraging. It took a lot of time and reflection about why I am doing this in the first place, but I was able to pick myself up and continuously surround myself with people who love the craft and teach me so many valuable things.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
RoosenMedia is a multi media company that dabbles in videography and digital marketing, with the main specialty being photography. Everyone always loves to ask, “what is your niche”, and I find that I do not really have a niche. Instead I apply my personal philosophy to each individual space I inhabit. I have found myself in such a wide spectrum of locations to shoot at, from home music studios to massive stadiums that can house over 100,000 people, and in each shoot I always focus on what emotion is being conveyed.

My most prominent work is with Atlanta United, more specifically their supporter’s section. In August 2025, one of the capos for the section reached out and wanted me to join their media production team. This came out of nowhere and I was super excited for the opportunity. Atlanta United was, and still is at the time of writing this, inside of one of the worst winning droughts in club history, but you would never know if you took one step in the supporter’s section. Countless devoted fans showing their passion for the club despite the on-field results, and I had the opportunity to freeze those moments in time. Being given the opportunity to utilize my skill of capturing raw emotion inside one of the biggest hubs inside of Atlanta was a dream come true. Each and every match presents a new challenge, how will these photos be different from the last ones, and being able to churn out a new set of unique photos is the thing I am most proud of.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
First of all, I need to give all the glory to God, this ability that I am so proud of is a gift that I am so grateful for. I cannot do this without Him. Additionally, I have several people in my corner who deserve so much credit for building me up to be the artist I am today:

My best friend Grayson Schofield (Instagram @wellgraysan). Grayson and I have been working on creative work since 2017, almost a whole decade. There has not been someone more in my corner and who wants to see me succeed than him. We both push each other to be the best in every way possible, and I would not be half the artist I am without him.

My friend Stewart Dillard (Instagram @stewstaysmilin). Stewart and I go way back, ever since we were children. We were able to reconnect as young adults in the beginning years of our personal brands. His brand, Stay Smilin, is a brand of up-cycled clothing with a simple message based on positivity, stay smilin. Each and every day I try to apply this philosophy to what I do, if I can carry a smile on my face I can get through anything. Stay Smilin is woven into my own personal brand, as I love to rep the brand during my shoots.

My friend and frequent collaborator Drew Xavier (Instagram @ceoxdrone). I met Drew in the summer of 2025, and he taught me everything I needed to know about being a professional in the media production world. Being fresh out of college, I had no clue about where to start in taking my business seriously. I reached out to Drew and he was so quick to take me under his wing. Now, almost a year later, I frequently enjoy working along side him, still looking for things to pick up on to translate to my own work.

My homeboy Gama (Instagram @_gamaahh). Gama was the person who introduced me into the Atlanta United scene in the first place, and everything has been up from there. Out of nowhere he sent me a message on Instagram, having no personal connections to me at all. He just stumbled upon my photos somehow and thought I would be great for the program, and here I am now. I cannot thank him enough for reaching out.

Each and every single member of the Pit family (Instagram @atl_pit). As a naturally shy person, getting thrown into a brand new environment is a very scary feeling. From how this community has treated me since day one, you would never even know I am a shy guy. This community has picked me up, embraced me, and showed me so much love and support from day one. The whole collective is the perfect embodiment of Atlanta, a massive mixing pot of different people and cultures, all united under one love for the city.
