Exploring Life & Business with Heather Toth of LemonTek Cleaning Service

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Toth.

Hi Heather, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my business in April 2021 after working in a hospital where I handled cleaning and sanitation. During that time, I completed formal training and became nationally certified in cleaning and disinfection, which gave me a strong foundation in what a truly thorough clean should look like. I was especially intrigued by learning how different cleaning products work, why certain processes matter, and how to use them effectively to get the best results.
One of the most meaningful parts of that job was the impact it had on patients. Something as simple as walking into a clean, fresh space could completely shift someone’s day, and I loved being a part of that. It made me realize this kind of work really does matter.
After COVID, I had a bit of a “why not?” moment. I thought—why keep this level of clean limited to medical facilities when I could bring it into people’s homes throughout my hometown and then some? Not every home needs hospital-level cleaning all the time, of course but it’s nice to know that level of care and detail is always there when it’s needed.
I genuinely love what I do. I enjoy bringing both my expertise and a good attitude into people’s homes and helping create a space that feels calm, comfortable, and taken care of. I take a lot of pride in my work and have a strong attention to detail especially when it comes to catching those spots that tend to get missed.
Starting my own business was definitely a little intimidating at first since I had never done anything like it before, but I found my rhythm and built something I’m really proud of.
I also get to work alongside my best friend, which makes a huge difference. She brings the same level of care, compassion, and work ethic, and I know I can count on her to give 110% every time.
The business is definitely growing, and I’m excited to keep expanding. I’ve leaned into some fun, creative marketing along the way, which has helped me connect with people in a way that feels authentic and maybe a little different from the norm. I love it!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road, I’ve hit some bumps along the way. At one point, I actually stepped away from the business… for about a year. Life felt overwhelming, and I just couldn’t fully commit the way I needed to at the time.
I shut down my Facebook, took down my website, and came close to walking away from it entirely. But then one day, I made a clear decision that this was what I was going to do and that I was going to make it work, no matter what.
Since then, I’ve fully committed mentally, physically, and financially and I’m really glad I did. .

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business is built around providing high-quality residential cleaning services throughout the Atlanta area, with a strong focus on detail, consistency, and trust. With my background in hospital sanitation and certification in cleaning and disinfection, I bring a level of clean that’s a little above your average wipe-down.
What really sets me apart is that I genuinely love what I do and yes, I know that might sound a little crazy, but it’s true. I pay attention to the details most people either miss or pretend not to see and I take pride in making a space not just look clean, but feel clean.
I’m also big on reliability and communication. If I say I’m going to be there and deliver a certain standard, I mean it. No guessing, no chasing me down I like to keep things easy and stress-free for my clients.
I work alongside my best friend, who matches my level of care, compassion, and work ethic. Literally my twin! Having someone I trust to give 110% every time makes a huge difference and honestly, we make a pretty solid team.
As a brand, I like to keep things real, a little fun, and approachable. My marketing reflects that I’m not afraid to be a little quirky if it grabs attention. But behind that, there’s a strong commitment to doing the job right every single time.
At the end of the day, I want people to know that when they hire us, they’re getting more than just a cleaning service. They’re getting someone who genuinely cares, takes pride in every detail, and will probably clean a few extra things just because we can’t help ourselves.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My biggest piece of advice is to just start even if you don’t feel fully ready, because you probably never will be. A lot of it you figure out as you go.
Consistency is everything. Not every day feels motivated, but showing up anyway is what builds something real over time.
Don’t be afraid to make mistakes—I’ve had plenty of those “that didn’t go as planned” moments, but those are usually where the best lessons come from. And most importantly be real and just be yourself. People connect with that more than anything.
