Today we’d like to introduce you to Temilade Quadri.
Hi Temilade, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got into photography during the COVID-19 lockdown while I was living in Michigan. What began as a simple creative outlet something to pass the time and express myself really quickly became much more meaningful.
As I spent more time behind the camera, I realized I wasn’t just taking photos; I was telling stories. My multicultural background as a Nigerian American deeply influenced the way I saw and captured the world, pushing me to create images that felt intentional, expressive, and rooted in emotion.
That passion eventually grew into TemsVision, a name inspired by my own ( Temilade ), meaning “the crown is mine,” and Temi, meaning “mine.” It represents not just ownership of my work, but a sense of purpose behind everything I create. Over time, I developed a style centered on storytelling, whether through creative sessions, editorial and fashion shoots. For me, photography is about more than just visuals it’s about collaboration, bringing ideas to life, and turning real moments into something lasting and memorable.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road getting to where I am now. Photography challenged me in ways I didn’t expect from learning how to properly work with lighting to understanding the clear differences between studio sessions and shooting outdoors. In the studio, I had to learn how to control every element with intention, while outdoor sessions pushed me to adapt quickly, knowing I couldn’t predict the weather, natural light, or changing environments. Each setting came with its own learning curve, and there were moments of trial and error that forced me to grow both technically and creatively.
Beyond the creative side, the business aspect has been just as challenging and still is. Figuring out how to monetize my work, put myself out there, and consistently find clients hasn’t always come easily. There were times when it felt like I was creating in silence, unsure if my work was reaching the right audience. But those challenges taught me persistence, confidence, and the importance of believing in my vision even when things weren’t immediately falling into place
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
My work I would say is specializing in creative sessions, editorial and fashion photography, as well as events. My work also focuses on capturing authentic moments and elevating them with a natural, story driven approach.
I’m known for creating images that feel effortless but still carry meaning. What I’m most proud of is that I haven’t stopped learning I stay persistent in growing my skills and pushing my creativity. What sets me apart is how natural my photos come out, while still adding a touch of creativity and storytelling that makes each image feel intentional and unique.
How do you define success?
I define success as the ongoing pursuit of something meaningful and giving my full effort to reach the goals I’ve set for myself. It’s not a fixed destination, but a constant work in progress where I’m consistently pushing to grow, improve, and maximize my potential.
To me, success is about knowing that each day I’m doing the best I can with what I have, while staying committed to where I want to go. It’s also about enjoying the process, not just the outcome finding fulfillment in the journey, recognizing how far I’ve come, and having that inner satisfaction and peace of mind that comes from knowing I’ve truly given it my all.
