Conversations with Savannah Archer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Savannah Archer.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am a disability advocate and coach for neurodivergent adults navigating autism, ADHD, burnout, isolation, personal relationships, work, continued education, or entrepreneurship.

I myself am autistic, ADHD, anxious, and living with chronic pain.

I graduated with my bachelor’s degree at 20 years old and found comfort in hyper independence. I also found myself isolated. I was a strong advocate, leader, and director at a nonprofit serving victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

I found myself burnt out at 27, married, with a new baby girl, and a career I didn’t want anymore.

Learning I was autistic and ADHD changed everything for me. I get to work alongside neurodivergent people and honor what my nervous system needs. I am still struggling to fight my workaholic nature and learning to SLOW down.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I have a really hard time asking for help, but I needed it. Unfortunately, I crashed before asking. Don’t let yourself suffer longer or keep things to yourself. A conversation might change what happens next.

During burnout, I encountered skill regression, my memory declined, and my emotions were even more overwhelming.

I had to learn about my sensory needs. I mapped them out and designed my first download you can find for FREE at savslifeskills.com, The Sensory Search.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in lived experience auDHD education through content creation. My social media @savvylifeskills was the first platform to connect with hundreds, thousands, then millions of people.

I also work 1 on 1 with adults who are ready to tackle their own challenges as neurodivergent adults.

I spend a significant amount of time giving back, creating awareness campaigns about autism and ADHD, hosting free groups for autistic adults, and networking so clients can access the best support available.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Creativity.

I mentioned a period of burnout. I did not create or engage in my art related hobbies for about 5 years. I was so busy working and helping others that I did not take care of myself.

I think creativity can save you in some ways.

Once I started drawing, painting, or coloring again, I found mental clarity. It really helps me become more regulated and I often start my day by coloring. I like to wake up early before anyone else is up.

Creativity is also what led me to entrepreneurship and helped me feel confident to bet on myself.
