Rising Stars: Meet Chris Hobe of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Hobe.

Hi Chris, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my art career painting tshirts geared towards hip hop culture each shirt was handpainted and I would sell them down at the underground, from there i started wholesaling the one of a kind handpainted tshirts nationally. Once I built up the painted tshirt brand I branched off and started painting originals on canvas and selling them at festivals nationwide. Now my clientele spans the globe with art collectors of all different calibers my art has been featured by Killer Mike, T.I., Jeezy, and Draymond Green to name a few. The main thing that got my art career where I am today is my amazing wife and children and my hustle to provide a great life for them.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No road is ever smooth. In the art world art is a luxury so down economies you have to pivot with the times and still find ways to produce and sell your work. Being good at selling yourself to an audience takes time but once you get comfortable things start to fall in to place.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a visual artist that creates using wood, acrylics and spray paints to make my vibrant pop art pieces. I do everything from original large scale works on canvas to large scale mural projects. What im most proud of recently is completing 3 large scale projects one being a mural where I live that was 12x48ft. I think what sets me apart from others is my vibrant color palette and work ethic, I’ve never been a fan of the starving artist.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
