Today we’d like to introduce you to Billi Andreas.
Hi Billi, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
“My journey started in the East side of Macon, Georgia, in a community called Davis Homes. Growing up in the projects, you learn things early—empathy, survival, faith, and grace. Looking back, that struggle was the best part of my upbringing because it taught me that I deserved a different life, not just for myself, but for the people I loved.
My drive comes from God, my family, and especially my mom. She’s the one who started me, my oldest sister, and my brother in a singing group, making us perform for anyone who walked through our front door. That was the spark. From there, I branched out into everything: I was in the church choir, on a mime team, and dancing with Phillips Performing Arts. In middle and high school, I was on the drumline, which is where I really started to understand rhythm and competition. I even got the chance to write a song for my school that played every day during transitions, which eventually led to an iconic performance at our rival pep rally. That was the moment I knew: this is what I’m supposed to be doing.
But I knew to get where I wanted to go, I had to see more. After graduating from Northeast High in 2016, I moved to Burlington, New Jersey. I spent my off days in Philly and New York, absorbing the culture of those sounds because, at that point, the South was all I knew. I later spent time in California, absorbing that soundscape as well.
I eventually moved back to Georgia, but I wasn’t the same person. I had spent years on the road doing construction work across the country, learning every music scene I could. I moved to Atlanta with a different hunger. I wanted the business; I wanted the writing. I packed up a ’99 Honda Accord—a gift from my aunt—and moved to Atlanta, living out of that car for months in a midtown parking deck. I was working at Twelve Studios, just wishing and praying for a break. I gave up every bit of comfort I had because I was determined to turn my dreams into reality.
That grind paid off. I met my manager, Branden Woodz, my mentor Trey Lawson, and friends like Javoe Rakour who pushed me. I had the privilege of working with Winner’s Circle, Dubba-AA, and legendary producers like Rushdee. Together with Trey and Rushdee, we secured a placement on Chris Brown’s album—writing ‘Red Rum’ with NBA YoungBoy—which opened doors I had only ever dreamed of.
Today, I’m a well-versed writer across every genre—from Gospel and Country to Pop, R&B, Afrobeats, and beyond. Coming from Macon, the home of legends like Little Richard and Otis Redding, I’m standing on their shoulders to bring the new wave of sound.
I’ve survived a near-death experience that God brought me through, and that changed everything. Now, I live with purpose. I’m here to change my life, but more importantly, I’m here to be an influence to those who look like me and grew up in the same struggle. I’m here to show them that no matter where you start, you can write your own ending.”
