Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I got started in hair because I was never fully happy with how my own hair was being done growing up. Even at a young age, I was fascinated with everything involving hair, beauty, and giving people makeovers. Looking back now, becoming a hairstylist was always right in front of me — even though I never imagined it would become my career.

When it was time for college, my identity was stolen, and I had to quickly pivot and figure out a way to support myself and create my own opportunities. Naturally, I leaned into hair. I started doing hair in my mom’s kitchen and sometimes in the back room of a barbershop, building my clientele from the ground up with consistency, faith, and determination.

Eventually, I rented my first salon suite, and things continued to grow from there. What started as survival became purpose. Today, hairstyling is more than just beauty to me — it’s confidence, transformation, creativity, and connection. I truly believe God guided me through every stage of this journey, and I’m grateful that my gifts and my hands have opened so many doors for me. I know there’s still so much more ahead, and I’m excited for everything that’s to come.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. In the beginning, one of the biggest challenges was finding clients and figuring everything out on my own while trying to build a business from the ground up. There were moments of uncertainty, long hours, and times where I had to learn through trial and error.

As I grew, I realized that having the right information, structure, and mindset changes everything. The way you run your business and the confidence you carry can truly make or break you as an entrepreneur. I had to learn not only how to perfect my craft, but also how to believe in myself, set standards, market myself, and stay consistent even during slower seasons.

Through it all, my faith has been what kept me grounded. Submitting everything to God and trusting His timing has helped me push through every obstacle. Every challenge taught me something, strengthened me, and helped shape the woman and business owner I am today.

Nova Rose Hair Care is a faith-led beauty brand focused on healthy hair, luxury experiences, and natural beauty. I specialize in natural hair care, protective styling, and creating looks that prioritize the integrity and health of my clients’ hair first. My goal is always to make sure clients leave not only looking beautiful, but also feeling confident, cared for, and educated about maintaining healthy hair.

What sets my business apart is the level of care and intention behind every service. In an industry where braiding and protective styling can sometimes get a negative reputation for damaging hair or lacking professionalism, I’ve worked hard to create a different experience — one that feels relaxing, luxurious, and genuinely personal. I focus heavily on making styles look natural, lightweight, and healthy while using quality and organic-based products whenever possible.

Beyond the hair itself, I want my clients to feel peace, confidence, and self-care when they sit in my chair. Faith is the foundation of my business, and I truly believe God has guided every part of this journey. I’m most proud of building a brand that reflects both beauty and purpose while creating a safe and uplifting experience for every client who supports me.

What makes you happy?
What makes me happiest is knowing that I’m walking in the purpose God has for my life while also helping others feel beautiful, confident, and cared for. There’s something so rewarding about being able to use my creativity and gifts to positively impact people, not just outwardly through beauty, but inwardly as well.

I truly love creating an experience where my clients can relax, feel seen, and leave feeling like the best version of themselves. Beyond hair and beauty, my faith is what brings me the most peace and fulfillment. Sharing the love of Jesus and showing others that real peace, purpose, and joy can come from living a life with God at the center is something very important to me.

For me, success isn’t just about business growth — it’s about making a difference, inspiring others, and using what God blessed me with to serve people in a meaningful way.
