Today we’d like to introduce you to Jarren Telesford.
Hi Jarren, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve been dancing all my life but started taking it seriously in 2009 taking many trips to my hometown Brooklyn New York training and battling in a style called FLEXN also battling here in ATL… in 2014 I made my mark by winning 4 consecutive battles establishing myself as a well decorated competitor amongst my peer..I performed on world of dance as well… 2020 I wanted to compete in Red Bull dance your style I emailed them and was unfortunately turned down I took that as a sign to train network and get my name up In the allstyle realm the hard work paid off in 2022 when I won the auditions after winning I was so overwhelmed with joy and anxiety I tanked lol and lost in the first round with that lost I trained again and came back next year and won the auditions again this time after winning I made it to the quarterfinals and had a viral moment that helped push my career in a new light along with being on tv with Jaleel white aka Steve urkel on the hit show “ FLIPSIDE”
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Some struggles along the way was trying to get ATL to understand my dance style cause it was new to the scene of Atlanta also getting people in my hometown of Brooklyn New York to accept me as a flex dancer cause I lived in another state also taking bus after bus for events and to practice with my team at the time staying with family and friends just trying to live out my dance dream… battling myself as well making sure I kept a clean mental and didn’t let the naysayers affect me
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a husband father athlete and dancer also owner of my own dance event “ SYN’RGY DANCE EVENTS”
Within dance I specialize in FLEXN isolations and body movement
I’m known for high energy moves and techniques along with having a great personality. I’m most proud of becoming a husband and a father to my one year old son jahkai but also proud of my students especially CJREY he has taken the gems I’ve instilled in him and traveled the world even became world champion recently… things that set me apart from others is the way I carry myself and the way I care for my peers and dance community everybody feels comfortable talking to me and listening to the advice I give and I don’t lead people astray
What’s next?
In the future I plan on having another child preferably a girl lol
Also putting together a bigger and better dance event for next year one that the community will talk about for years to come.
I’m most looking forward to seeing where event ownership and fatherhood takes me
