Meet Alexis Covington of Marietta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Covington.

Hi Alexis , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m Chef Lex, a passionate culinary artist with a flair for creating unforgettable dining experiences. As a traveling private chef, I bring my expertise from the Chi Burbs to ATL, serving dishes that captivate both the palate and the soul. My journey as a celebrity chef has allowed me to cater to diverse tastes, ensuring each meal tells its own story. Whether it’s an intimate dinner party or grand event, I pride myself on delivering excellence straight to your table. Let’s make your next occasion a culinary masterpiece!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
After working for a food network star, I had a lot of challenges getting my clientele back or even finding a new position. I transitioned by working from home and catering of course, still missing the kitchen atmosphere. A few weddings later, I decided to take a break to get my ducks in a row and prepare a better foundation to do larger catering events seamlessly. Happily a year later, I am in a great position to start the business to handle larger events!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a culinary creative and hospitality professional with a background in high-volume kitchens, private dining, catering, and client-focused experiences. Over the years, I’ve learned that people don’t just remember good food — they remember how you made them feel. That’s what I specialize in: creating experiences that feel intentional, elevated, comforting, and unforgettable.

I’m known for bringing together flavor, presentation, organization, and personality in a way that feels genuine and high-end without being pretentious. Whether I’m preparing gourmet meal preps, curating a private dinner, organizing a space, or building a brand concept, I naturally focus on detail, efficiency, and creating something people genuinely connect with.

One thing I’m most proud of is my ability to adapt and continue building through difficult seasons. I’ve worked my way through intense environments, rebuilt from setbacks, and continued turning my creativity into opportunity. That resilience shows up in my work ethic, the way I treat clients, and the level of care I put into everything I do.

What sets me apart is that I combine creativity with real hospitality instincts. I understand people. I know how to make clients feel seen, heard, comfortable, and excited. A lot of people can provide a service — I focus on creating an experience people talk about afterward.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
