Conversations with Tanner Feldman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tanner Feldman.

Hi Tanner, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
The Come Up

I grew up in the back of my sister’s old purple Supra, soaking in Biggie, 2Pac, and Dre before I even knew what a beat was. Weekends meant waking up to whatever my sister or my dad had blasting through the house while they handled their morning: rap, dance music, rock, R&B, all of it. Music was never a choice, it was just the air I breathed.

The turning point was my sister’s boyfriend at the time, an EDM DJ who was well known in the South Bay and San Francisco. Every time he’d catch me playing video games, he’d tell me the same thing: “Tanner, you could do something like this and make real money, and I know you love music.” He planted that seed over and over until it took root. Then one night I literally dreamed it: me DJing for a massive crowd on Highway 1, right by the house where I spent most of my childhood. The feeling was so real, so right, that when I woke up I ran straight to my mom’s room and told her I finally knew what I wanted to do with my life. Music.

Where I’m At Now

Eight years deep and counting. My bread and butter has been dark trap and hood trap, the world of Rob49, Bossman Dlow, and EST Gee. But I’ve never been a one-lane producer. I make reggaeton, R&B, rage, whatever the song needs. Recently I’ve been tapping into the Latin market heavy, connecting with two Colombian artists I’ve been building with for a while now. That work just hit: “TOXXIC LOVE” by WAO and “No Lo Van A Entender” by LIFA, both produced by me. And I’m not slowing down. My 6th Florida Trap Beat Tape which is strictly instrumentals drops July 10th.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No road blocks, I dont like making excuses I just move through my problems I ether overcome them or I end up learning from them. I was never the type of person that understood, nor liked when people would say ” I had a hard life ” seems like self pity or they are looking for attention ether way. Nothing can break me, the main reason why Im not where Iam is because of me. Not spending enough money or time or whatever it may be but thats why every day I work on my music and do as much as a I can.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Iam a hiphop music producer. I specialize in and what Iam known for is darktrap , southern style trap. Rob49 , EST Gee, Bossman Dlow etc,.. What sets me apart is my experimental approach within genre boundaries: I’m always looking for unconventional elements—an unexpected snare, an unusual string or synth texture—to give each beat its own identity while maintaining the core vibe the artist needs. I push sonic boundaries without losing focus on the lane I’m working in. Besides my sound separating me from the masses is my unique personality as a producer now a days is more important than ever. I bring a fun, energetic, but serious vibe to the studio. The rest you’ll will have to experience for yourself. I’m looking for placement opportunities, pub deals, and management currently.

What does success mean to you?
By the impact Ive made on the world ” people ” and the point where Iam able to live comfortably off of my passion.
