We recently had the chance to connect with Magen Wright and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Magen, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I wake up everyday with gratitude and excitement for what the day may bring. I get ready for the day, meditate, go on a walk, then go to the gym. Making time in the mornings for myself has changed my life. I stay off my phone and really enjoy the present moment, it gives me time to set the tone for the rest of my day, with clarity.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey y’all, I’m Magen! My purpose and passion is to help others. I provide you with the safe space and the tools to help you grow and heal. I offer Reiki, Past Life Regression, Sound Therapy and Spiritual Life Coaching. I love being of service to others, I love seeing the transformation and growth of my clients, it’s truly so rewarding!
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
My grandmothers passing back in 2016. I believe that’s where my deep spiritual journey began. My entire world changed, my views on death, life, existence. I didn’t know how to handle grief or how to move forward. As time went on, I grew, I learned, I opened my mind, and I found connection to my grandmother on a spiritual level. For me, this changed my world, it changed how I saw life, how we go about our daily lives with no connection to spirit. We can’t go about our lives ignoring that connection. We are spiritual beings, having a human experience, we can’t forget that.
What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
I love this question because I don’t really believe in failure. I look at everything as a learning experience. Why do things have to be labeled as a failure? Yes, maybe you didn’t fully complete the task or do something correctly but you didn’t necessarily fail. Once you categorize something as a ‘failure’ most people start being hard on themselves and that’s not good. Change that perspective and just say “alright, I see now, I can do it this way next time”. That way, you’re not being mean to yourself, you’re actually rewiring your brain to see ‘failure’ as an opportunity to learn and grow. So I don’t think I’ve ever ‘failed hard’, I just grew stronger.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
I am and will always be my true authentic self. How others perceive me, is not my responsibility. We have to understand that people can only meet you as far as they’ve met themselves. So sometimes no matter how authentic and true to yourself you are, some people may think you’re weird or crazy. Also, we all have different perspectives, so everyone has a different version of you in their head. YOU are the only one who truly knows YOU.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
Well, I live in the south, in the Bible Belt. I think a lot of misunderstandings is from lack of education, experience, and a lot of indoctrination. Some people see my work as absent from God/Source/Universe because I’m not ‘religious’. When it’s really aimed in divine connection to work with God/Source/Universe.
