Anna Choi shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Anna, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
As a mom of three young children, I’m blessed with countless laughing moments every single day—kids truly bring so much joy and humor into life. Pride is also something I feel daily, whether it’s watching my children reach new milestones or seeing their little achievements add up. I feel proud as a mother for guiding and supporting them, but also proud of myself as a woman balancing both family and business. It hasn’t always been easy—juggling the demands of motherhood and entrepreneurship is a challenge, but looking at how far I’ve come makes me incredibly grateful and proud of the journey.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Anna Choi, and I wear a few different hats – I’m a local real estate agent, insurance agent, nurse practitioner, and most importantly, a wife and mom of three. People often ask me, “How do you manage it all?” The truth is, I simply do what I love, and that passion fuels me in every role I take on.
Of course, there are tough days, but I wouldn’t trade the journey for anything. I believe in bringing my family along with me because celebrating success together makes the destination even more meaningful.
What sets me apart is that I genuinely care for people. I’ve built my life and career around helping others—whether that’s guiding someone to their dream home, insuring their business, or caring for a child as a nurse practitioner. I see myself as an all-in-one resource for the people I serve. I truly understand the weight of homeownership, business ownership, and everything in between, and I strive to be a trusted partner from start to finish.
For me, business isn’t just about transactions, it’s about relationships. I love watching my clients and partners succeed, and I feel honored to be part of their stories.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
Two people instantly come to mind: my mom and my husband, Ben.
I didn’t fully grasp the extent of my mom’s hard work until I became a mother myself. Looking back, I wonder, “How on earth did she do it all, while running a small business, without the resources we have today?” Now I understand the sacrifices she made, from missing school concerts to juggling endless responsibilities, all while doing what she had to for her family. She taught me the importance of time management, resilience, and dedicating myself wholeheartedly to every role I take on.
My husband, Ben, is who I like to call “Mr. Incredible.” I’ve met plenty of ambitious dreamers, but he’s someone who not only dreams big—he executes. If you give him a task, you can trust that he’ll either accomplish it or find a way to make it happen. From him, I’ve learned that actions matter more than words. He’s taught me to follow through, be a woman of my word, and commit to what I say I’ll do.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
The greatest wound in my life has been losing my mom to brain cancer two years ago. It’s something I’m still healing from, and truthfully, I don’t think that kind of loss ever completely goes away. My mom lived a blessed but very difficult life, carrying her own wounds while also being a wife, daughter, and mother. For a long time, I saw her life through a negative lens—working endlessly on a struggling business, never taking vacations, and often missing my school events. But with time, I’ve come to see things differently. She wasn’t absent; she was showing me what strength, sacrifice, and resilience look like. She was teaching me how to balance motherhood and business, even when it’s hard.
My healing has come through faith, reflection, and community. I lean on God daily, and I’m blessed with a supportive circle of friends—especially fellow moms who remind me I’m not alone. We share our struggles, we laugh, we vent, and we encourage one another. That sense of connection and faith is what keeps me moving forward on the path of healing.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
I believe many smart people are getting the concept of money wrong. It’s not their fault—our society doesn’t really teach financial literacy in a meaningful way. Unless you grow up in a family that models money management, the extent of education is usually just “save a little and put something into a retirement fund.” What’s often missing is learning how to actually use money as a tool to build a future.
Ironically, some of the most highly educated people I know are also the most financially inept, because they’ve never been taught how to strategically grow wealth. That realization is one of the reasons I got into real estate investing—it’s a powerful way to not only create financial stability but also build generational wealth.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
When I’m gone, I hope people remember me for the ways I helped them and made their lives a little better. More than any title or achievement, the legacy I want most is to be remembered as an amazing wife and mother. To me, that would be the greatest reflection of my character and the life I tried to live—with love, purpose, and impact.
