Art & Life with Margaux

Today we’d like to introduce you to Margaux.

Margaux, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I was born into a musical family and started doing music at a very young age. I grew up playing piano, harp, and violin. My mom taught me how to sing, and I started rapping in high school. Ever since I was little, I had folders packed with songs that I wrote and/or composed. It wasn’t until college that I started taking it seriously though.

I started producing beats on the Garage Band app on my phone and just fell in love with it! So I took my refund check, bought studio equipment, and had one of my friends download Logic Pro for me. At first, I didn’t know what I was doing. But it sort of became an obsession for me to figure it out. I started experimenting with sounds, asking other producers questions, watching youtube videos, and eventually just found my own lane!

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I make whatever I want to make. My music isn’t one genre, and I make it as a way to build me up when I’m down. My music is fun, sexy, and confident; and I make it that way because that’s the way I want to feel as well as others! If there’s anything anyone should know about my music, it’s that I do it all myself. Besides my newest single “Wait,” which was produced by Mango Mic (and is now out on all streaming sites), I write, produce, engineer, and perform it all myself!

How do you think about success, as an artist, and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
For right now, success to me is being fully confident with myself. I feel like a person can have all the followers, fans, and/or money in the world, but if they’re not really fully confident with themselves then what’s the point? As a female artist who’s isn’t of the “norm” a strong sense of self-love is very important. I haven’t always been confident. In fact, it wasn’t until I dropped my first EP “Trust In Me,” back in 2018, that I started taking chances. Since then I’ve just been on this journey of really finding and loving my true self. And I honestly feel like a bad b**** more and more every day. And by bad b****, I mean I feel like no one can stop me; and that I’m going to get what I want out of life. And if I can keep that feeling every day for the rest of my life, that, to me, is success!

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
You can find my music on all streaming sites by just typing in my name! And you can follow me on all social media at @margauxwattle (Instagram) & @_margauxwattle (Twitter)!
