Today we’d like to introduce you to Shon Fullwood.
Shon, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
As a child, I couldn’t draw, but my stick figures were always stylish. I’ve always loved fashion, and as I got older, I realized how important it was to not only be fashionable but, also to make a statement and be original. 2017 was such an emotionally draining year for me, and instead of letting depression take over my life, I started designing. In 2018 I opened and funded Stamped By Shon, catering to being original and making statements. I was so nervous to introduce my company to the world, and I only told a few people at first and now Im shipping items all over the United States. Growing up my parents always let my younger sister and I know that “if you want something to happen, you have to pray, have faith and put in work.” Thats the greatest lesson I learned. Growing I went through a lot of hardships but, I have always been determined and strong-willed. When God opened this door for me, I dove in head first, no questions asked. I took every penny I earned and bought me tools and equipment spent hours designing and doing research on top of work a full-time job, being a single mother of two wonderful little boys, and going to school. I had to make my dream a reality. I do not regret one single choice.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
The very first thing I created was a t-shirt, and from there I’ve expanded to over ten different items. My inspiration comes from random everyday things; others may not even look at. All day I think what could I do to transform something simple into something memorable. My customers definitely challenge me to step outside the box and create something they’ve never seen before. My art will be around forever, and that is what inspires me the most.
In your view, what is the biggest issue artists have to deal with?
I think the biggest challenge facing artists today is getting support and exposure and also protecting themselves for having someone duplicate their art and claiming it as their own.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
