Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Stephens.
Stephanie, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
From a young girl to an adult. I have always been a leader with a hustler spirit. I always had the dream of becoming a teacher. I love to write. I would write short stories and poems for fun. When school was out, I would gather the neighborhood kids together and teach them. My journey started right after high school trying to find myself. I attended several colleges and universities. I went on to complete a Medical Assisting program. I could not gain employment, so I worked several customer service and hospitality jobs. It wasn’t until I was fired that I realized I needed to invest in myself. I always had a religious background. I decided what can I do to share my faith and empower others. I have always been into fashion, so this T-shirt industry came easy to me. In the process of my journey of starting my t-shirt business Bleszing Clothing. I discovered that I wasn’t the only one that wanted to do this. So I wanted to use my gifts and experiences to teach others how to start a t-shirt business. My aim is to provide others with the basic knowledge of starting their own T-shirt business and jump into the business of entrepreneurship and become your own boss. So I wrote a book called Hustle Up and Start Your T-Shirt Business. I am always looking for ways to help others. So Bleszing Clothing is my way to express god’s greatness but give women who can identify with some of the challenges I faced and encourage them to remain faithful and Trust God. I am currently pursuing a degree at Georgia State University in Journalism with a minor in Media Relations. I always tell people God did not create me to be mediocre. I want to be the best person God created me to be.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I am the CEO and Founder of Bleszing Clothing. Bleszing Clothing is a Christian T-shirt and apparel brand. The brand was created to empower, and encourage women to pursue their purpose while remaining humble and trusting God throughout the process. This has been my own motivation to be transparent and share my faith with other women like myself. I created this brand in 2017. The Name Bleszing Clothing came from God. God wanted me to share his word, and I didn’t know how to do it, so I prayed for clarity, and God told me I am a blessing and to find a way to be a blessing to others and spreading the word. The message behind the brand is You can still be you and worship God. By having a message on our apparel, our goal is to spread love through Gods word. We are focused on the issues that affects our communities, the struggles, and challenges of just been women. Now we are two years in, and we have received so much love and support. This is what makes this brand so unique is that we are very interactive with our followers and supporters. We are building a sisterhood to empower women to seek their purpose, remain faithful and trust the process. We will be adding more products this year. Some which will include beauty products. We want to connect with other Christian entrepreneurs and female entrepreneurs. We have done networking events, HIV awareness events, Pop Up shops here in Atlanta. We have partnered with some amazing women. You can look forward to more tees and apparel, a spread of beauty products; We are in the process of planning a fashion show for next spring. A Bleszing Clothing Tour, along with a Women Empowerment Conference. One of our most popular tee is Hustle Humbly which means hustle until you find the plan be humble until you find your purpose. We want women to know it’s okay to trust God. Psalm 46:5 “God is within her She will Not Fall.”
How do you think about success, as an artist, and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
I define success by not what you have but by what you do. How are you are impacting your community? You can have success in anything you want to achieve or pursue. In order to be successful, you must be diligently and actively working towards your goals and dream.s. As a business owner I know sometimes I have to get out of my own head and remember why I started and It’s not about me. I believe success is a state of mind. People can feel success. People can’t eat success. I want to encourage people to be successful in their purpose.
