Today we’d like to introduce you to Talia Johns.
Talia, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I grew up in the Stone Mountain area, and at a young age, I discovered my love for the arts. Being from a city that has birthed so many creatives gave me a unique set of eyes and ears at a young age. I was surrounded by friends who all expressed themselves through different creative outlets. This gave me the confidence to express myself through the clothes that I wear, the music I listen to, and the overall way that I carry myself. The styles that I have come to admire and my own personal style are a culmination of visions that have been in my head since I was young up until this point. These visions are what I portray in my content.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I am a creative who thrives in expressing myself through images and creating content from what starts off in my imagination. I share the world through my eyes in the content that I post. I am also the co-owner of a YouTube channel based on underground music artists, music reactions, and concert VLOGS. I would say my message is to just be comfortable in yourself. Over time, I have become more comfortable with myself, and that has allowed me to be comfortable with posting and being transparent with my content. People should take away that I am sharing myself genuinely. I am not trying to be anyone else or ride waves. I’m simply me.
What would you recommend to an artist new to the city, or to art, in terms of meeting and connecting with other artists and creatives?
The best advice that I ever received was to literally put yourself out there. In this generation, it is tremendously easy to live solely online. This can be fulfilling in some ways. But it can get lonely more often than not. I’m very thankful to live close to Atlanta. There are so many opportunities to go to events, meet fellow creatives, and talk with people who share your interests. I have made many connections and friendships this way. Getting out there made me more open to collaboration with other creatives and helped me be more confident with consistently posting my content. Its a huge support system in our community of creatives.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
You can find me and all my content by following my Instagram @ta.li4. There I have a link in my bio to all the other outlets you can find me on (Youtube, Tumblr, etc.).
