Art & Life with Taylor & Tyler Pratt

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor & Tyler Pratt.

Taylor & Tyler, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
Me and brother were born & raised in Tulsa Oklahoma. In middle school, we started writing music and reciting it in our neighborhood church. By high school, we were buying home studio equipment and recording in our parents’ office space. Our sophomore year we met a local producer and engineer and started recording seriously in a studio space in the city. Soon after, we were doing small shows, had landed a song on local radio, and were rubbing shoulders with the likes of Willie Moore Jr. (formerly Pretty Willie). Come to the end of our high-school run; we decided to move to Florida and study music at Full Sail University in Orlando Fl. Continuing to record, build upon our home studio arsenal, and release new songs, we graduated and went to intern at Circle House Studios and with Salaam Remi at Instrument Zoo studios in Miami, Fl.

After a year in Miami, music opportunities brought us to Atlanta Georgia where we connected with a vast array of music industry professionals, artists, and creatives. Working with people in the Atlanta music scene created an unexpected demand for the creative approach that we took in the visual branding of our music, which led us to start a creative services company called A.C.G. Creative. We now offer art direction and creative services in the area of live shows, graphic design, and merchandise, while also continuing to write, record, and release music under the name Rap’s Double.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
Me and my brother make rap music under the name Rap’s Double. The ‘double’ meaning behind the name comes from us being twins and making music that often has double meanings and a double appeal, to the rich and poor, to the streets and the suburb… to the person of faith and the nonbeliever. The music we make and the art we create is all about connecting and lifting each other through visual and musical experiences. Whether its Design, music, merchandise, or live shows, we want every walk of life to connect with the experience and their path’s to intersect there.

We want people to take away that everyone in their unique life has been given purpose, and that all of our experiences are had ON purpose to either lift those that come from the same place we do or help someone who is from a different path experience, understand, and appreciate a different perspective.

You should know about our artwork; then we are in the business of pushing limits and challenging the norm.

In your view, what is the biggest issue artists have to deal with?
I think the biggest challenge facing artists today is getting the masses to appreciate what they are making without compromising their own uniqueness and vision. We live in a very fast paced and trend driven society when it comes to creativity. It’s tempting to ride the current wave and make things they aren’t necessarily true to yourself in an attempt to appeal to the current demand, but if we can find the sweet spot of breaking new ground with our uniqueness and scratching the itch of what is current, artists will establish a productive rhythm.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
Our work can always be seen on social media, of course, a website (for A.C.G. Creative) that is soon to launch, and on all streaming platforms.
