Art & Life with Young E.Z.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Young E.Z..

Young E.Z., please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
I’ve been rapping since a young age, but it wasn’t till recently where I started taking it seriously. I come from a neighborhood where nobody really pursues music, so I was hesitant to push myself. But one day I was just fucking around with a 40$ microphone in my room and made a song called Dice. It was wild, and word got around I had a banger on my hands. So I sent it to a friend of mine to hop on, and that shit really changed my life. That’s when Dexter Richardson found me and brought me into Rich Era Music. We really just started making serious moves, and this next project with them is really gonna be one to remember.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
So my music is different in the sense that it’s incredibly versatile. Each song will have a different message and sometimes a completely different genre. Soon I’m dropping the “Just Listen” tape which will be a two-sided tape featuring numerous mainstream artists. Each side of the tape convey different vibes and almost different sects of hip hop. On one side I will have angrier or happier songs where they make you wanna jump or dance. The other will have slower paced lyrical or melodic songs that will chill you out or just really fun songs to listen to.

I really write lyrics on my phone almost always, but most of my songs are just freestyles. Those end up being the best ones a lot of the time.

How do you think about success, as an artist, and what do quality do you feel is most helpful?
Success of an artists really is two things to me. The first being obvious money. We all really are chasing paper, The second being the artists you impact. By that I don’t only mean in the culture, but how did you change the music game. What aspects of hip hop did you change or add?

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
