Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Egypt.
Anthony, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Life has brought me to realize the most precious things must be captured and cherished. I grew up in Brooklyn, NY as a child actor until my whole life took an unsettling turn. My mother died at the age of 34. The breath of life was snatch from the very breath I breathed. Turning to life for understanding I definitely needed, until I picked up the camera and sharpened my pencils. Life helped me understand that the most precious things must be captured and cherished because once it’s gone…. it’s gone. I’m Egypt. Atlanta’s photographer and artist.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
When you look in the mirror who do you see. I see a hue ready to be set free. I see happiness pain and beauty through my eyes I see. What do I capture. I capture truth. I capture the very things that need to be seen and heard. I uplift I motivate. I’m one that finds the very beauty in things and make it shine. I’m one that creates new realities in the perilous of times.I am..your photographer.
Have things improved for artists? What should cities do to empower artists?
Life have become easier for artistry due to social media. Other than social media I wish there were more outlets for underground artists to be able to come together to show case. Under one roof. Not just drawer’s painter’s photographers. But all artistry under one. Videographers, singers, actor’s actress’s models under one roof showing their talents and gifts. I also fell like the culture in Atlanta need to take art more seriously.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
