Check out Cam Schott’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cam Schott.

Cam, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Art has always been the backbone to my story, and I’ve been creating (and loving it) ever since I was young. I grew up and went off to college, only to find my life lacking the artistic outlet I’ve loved for so long. So in my final years at university, I decided to pick up a paintbrush again to spark that happiness that I always found in art. I started delving into it more and more, and by the time graduation rolled around I chose to continue that path as an artist. So for the past year and a half since graduation, I’ve been dedicating my whole life to my art career, and I have never felt more fulfillment and joy than I have now. My art is an extension of myself, and I’m so grateful to live out this passion of mine every single day!

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I paint the sky! Every single cloud, skyscape, and sunset inspire my work, and I take that with oil paints and create works on canvas to put on my clients’ walls! My hope is to take the awareness of the beauty all around us, the beauty that happens every single day during sunrise and sunset, and bring it inside the four walls we live in. We’re surrounded by indescribable beauty that says more than words can ever say, more majesty that we could ever hope for, and more peace than we could ever create. I hope that my work acts as a reminder of the amazing miracle of colors and stillness that paints our skies without fail every day.

I’m currently working on a collection release for the fall of my own work, but most of my work consists of custom commissions when my clients come to me to recreate a special sunset or sky that holds great meaning to them! I’m always taking commission requests year round, and I love nothing more than to create work that fits perfectly within a space for people to cherish forever.

How can artists connect with other artists?
I think it’s essential to be alone to produce your best work when you’re in the studio. My art is an extension of my soul, so too much interference can overrule my best while I’m painting. On the flip side, community is so vital too! My advise would be to search out artists that honestly resonate with you and reach out to them! It never gets old connecting with someone who is looking to support you, so finding those that speak to you and can inspire you is super helpful! Most artists have stories and experiences that are different to yours, so talking to them can help you gain insight into your journey and obstacles as well!

Now a days, there are so many artist communities that you can become a part of; finding those local to you can serve as a social way to connect with others on days when you’re not working on your current projects!

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
I’m solely based online at the moment, with hopes soon to open my own public studio soon! All of my available work is posted on my website and my social media, @cam_schott.

Periodically, I host silent auctions on my Instagram, so stay tuned for those coming up!

Support is one of the most important things we artists need, whether that be monetarily, physically, or emotionally! Any words of encouragement, follows, and messages are beyond welcome and keep me inspired and motivated as an artist and are just as welcomed as any sales I make.

I’m planning on an art show in Atlanta soon and lots of more online sales. So make sure you follow my journey so you can stay up to date on all the art moves I’ll be making this year.
