Today we’d like to introduce you to David Murray.
David, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
My story begins as a photojournalist in South Florida, where I learned from some of the best photographers in North America. I was part of a Pulitzer Prize team at the Ft. Lauderdale newspaper, for work done in Haiti. Eventually I moved from editorial to weddings and have never looked back. As someone who was known for my news images, my fashion focus, and as the only brother in a family of six, I have been told that I am uniquely qualified to capture the instantaneous moments that brides love…. the sensitive, loving moments between family and friends.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
My art is best set in the defining moments of family that will be the stories of legacy for generations to come. The delight in finding conversation, recognizing the backdrops to frame images that will life for decades gives me much satisfaction
Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
I keep in mind this notion as I create: what are the universal aspects of any moment, any gesture, any touch?… I try to show that we all share in love, and that the human condition knows no boundaries when it comes to this prime virtue.
