Today we’d like to introduce you to Franco.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am a rising rapper/singer from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I’m taking a break from college at Coastal Carolina, where I was studying business, to pursue my passion, which is my music. I started making music at the young age of 14. I also love high fashion and create clothing too. In October of 2019, I signed to the record label StoneWood in Atlanta, GA, partnering with hiphop moguls Mali Hunter + Groove Chambers at the age of 18. Recently, I dropped my newest single, “No L’s,” in November 2020. “No L’s” means “No Losses” it’s about not taking any more losses and that it’s only up from now on, so don’t sleep on your dreams, but stay woke. Future music plans for me include my debut EP due to drop at the beginning of 2021. As the musical artist Franco, I am confident in the musical direction I’m headed in and it’s only a matter of time I achieve my dreams of becoming a successful artist. We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I was bullied throughout middle school and the first two years of high school for being “Different” and while playing basketball because I was the youngest and smallest playing on the team. But I’ve always been driven and worked really hard to improve my basketball skills. The hard work paid off. In my sophomore summer, I was selected to play on team USA across seas in Australia. Basketball would always clear my mind and so did singing and making my music. As I started growing up, I experienced Heartbreaks and was super hard on myself and I fell into a depression. Music was my way of expressing myself and help me cope with that pain.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a singer and a rapper. I’ve been singing ever since I was a kid and as a baby, I’d always hum to music in the car that my parents would put on. I would make singing videos and post them on social media and my friends would tell me to start making it. I started creating it in 8th grade. I think what sets me apart is my ambition, dedication, and angelic voice.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
In 5-10 years, I see myself being wealthy and very happy. Also having a lot of projects out and my own clothing brand. I’m really excited about dropping my Ep in the beginning of the year, it will have five songs on it and definitely show my versatility. I also see myself winning awards and collaborating with artists that I’ve looked up to.
