Manoj and Mukesh, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Fueled by his passion for beauty and vision to create exclusive fine jewellery, Mr. Papu Butani founded Butani Jewellery in 1977 and started his quest to create exquisite jewellery.
It is this desire and dedication for perfection that has enabled Butani Jewellery to build an international reputation for creating haute-couture handcrafted jewellery for distinguished retail houses, royal families and private clients around the world.
Joined by his twin sons, Mukesh and Manoj, they continue to expand in the retail scene bringing Butani to a wider
audience.
Today, the dynamic father and sons team continue to awe customers with their beautiful designs and craftsmanship that has been their mantra for success.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Our design mantra is Dare, dream and create. We are inspired to create breathtaking and exceptional pieces of jewellery that tell their own individual story.
We are passionate about our work. Each and every piece is sketched and made by hand, even though we are up to date with the latest technology. Our craftsmen take a meticulous approach to every piece of jewellery that we create.
Butani jewellery is distinctive, both in its use of high-quality diamonds and gemstones and in its luxurious design that make each and every piece a special keepsake. Every season we come up with new and interesting collections and each and every piece is unique and one-of-a-kind.
Depending on the technical challenges of each individual design, we use a variety of different stone setting techniques, including mystery, grife, micro and channel to create timeless masterpieces.
We treat each and every piece of jewellery as a work of art, from the initial design to the realization. Everything we do is done with the aim of creating art.
As a family business, we have a strong work ethic and are committed to providing the best service and individual attention to our clients. This consistency and determination has formed a big part of our success.
Have things improved for artists? What should cities do to empower artists?
Involves a lot of hard work and determination. There are a lot of amazing brands in the world that are all competing for attention, so you need to create a great brand with a point of difference and distinct personality.
Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
Our flagship boutique is at the Peninsula Hotel Hong Kong, and we also have two boutiques in Macau – at the Venetian Macau and Grand Lisboa Macau.
Every year, Butani Jewellery is invited to showcase at world class jewellery exhibitions such as; BaselWorld in Switzerland, Jewellery and Watch Exhibitions in Bahrain, Doha and Dubai.
Our pieces can often be seen on the red carpet. We have and have had the pleasure of dressing some of the most talented and glamorous women in the world such as Beyoncé, Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, and the former First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama.
